I thought the belief was Reunanen would head back to Europe for 1 more season?

given all the depth between ny and hartford, I think there is a good chance but it really depends on how camp (and I assume traverse city goes)...first question will be how close is he to the NHL and where he stacks up among rykov/hajek/lindgren...

if he's not gonna get top 4 minutes in hartford at least, I think he will go back to Lukko to get big minutes there to continue to develop...but thats just my own speculation

Mariners have signed 8players so far for the upcoming season. Returning from last season are: F Terrence Wallin, F Mike McNicholas, D Derek Pratt, D Josh Couturier F Dillan Fox, and F Dwyer Tschantz. C Nick Masters played a handful a games for the Mariners after graduating from UMass-Lowell last year. D Rich Boyd played two games last year for the Mariners after graduating from UNH.

The Mariners also offered qualifying offers to six players that they had the rights to at the beginning of the year, ensuring they will keep those players' ECHL rights for the upcoming season. F Greg Chase, F Alex Kile, D Scott Savage, and G Connor LaCouvee were big part of last year's squad. D Johnny Coughlin had a tryout last year after graduating from Holy Cross. F Corey Kalk had his rookie season last year splitting time between Wichita and Orlando.

Good for him. I'm a little surprised because he was a plug at Cornell and didn't seem to do a whole lot this year in Maine.

Out of all those guys, probably one will end up playing in the NHL. Who will it be?

Is it after the first settlement/agreement? Or the last?

Stefan Matteau is a kid I wouldn’t mind getting into the organization on an AHL deal. I think that he is underrated in many areas, but he is just too heavy to be an NHLer in today’s game. I wouldn’t rule out that he ever would find a spot in the NHL, but primary I think he would compliment the kids in HFD well and even be a good physical player to have in the organization if it was needed for a shorter stint here or there.

Just checked out Mark Riepe's (former Mariners equipmemt manager) twitter, he just updated his info to now Equipemt Manager for the Hartford Wolfpack.

Probably the zamboni driver at the XL Center is already concerned about his job... Pack really getting a turnover on all fronts

Looks like Gorton and JD got to the bottom of Hartford’s perpetual shittery.

Several hockey sources have stated that two people who applied and were interviewed but turned down the Rangers’ offer. Needless to say, that’s a highly unusual circumstance.

Cantlon’s Corner
has confirmation from three different sources, that one of those interviewed was none other than Hartford Whaler great, Kevin Dineen. What is interesting was that he wasn’t offered the job, despite the fact he fits so many of the boxes needed for the position. All three sources were equally surprised that he wasn’t hired or offered the position as they all felt he was a great fit and thought of him first when the job opened up.

CANTLON: WOLF PACK HEAD COACHING POSITION REMAINS OPEN

The Rangers need to get out of Hartford. The last thing they needed was to hire a former Whaler player.

It is a little concerning the Rangers have been turned down by two candidates.

holy moly what an incredibly empty article, all speculation, rumors/gossip with no sources.
Gerry always just writes what he happens to know, or chooses to find out, but this an amazing nothing.
Agreed though, a coach needs to be hired ....
