Bergman I get, they wanted to keep his rights in case he decides to come back. He was good prospect not long ago. Smart to keep him under control, if possible.

Nell just sucks, I don't get that one. He wasn't even good in the ECHL.

Vinni was a no-brainer.

I was thinking it had something to do with the second byout window, and trying to ensure they had one by qualifying a guy they would walk away from, but then I realized Nell is nuts if he doesn't just accept the QO and say thank you.

I believe the 2nd window applies to teams that have arbitration cases

Nell apparently didn't get a QO:

nor Bergman
this makes more sense,
my instinct all week was that Gorts just hadn't worried about being thoroughly complete in his QO comments to reporters, especially since the reported comments never mentioned Vinnie either way

at first i thought they should have been able to swap "fresh starts" and get someone similar back for guys like Halverson, Bigras or Claesson,

but this is a new NHL, so many pedigreed guys getting non-tendered -
Hutton, Dano, Granlund, Hartman, Leipsic, Rychel, Lazar, Reider, Cousins, Shinkaruk, lots more i have not thoroughly reviewed the updated listings

NOT saying these are great players,
(Hutton, Granlund, Hartman might be the only full time NHL guys)
but in prior years they'd more likely have had their rights extended

this pool is where those AAAA guys for HWP will come from

So Vinni should be back, right?

Seems that way, sorry to write with uncertainty, many teams actually released their RFA QO decisions, but seems NYR have not.

There is no indication that Vinni was NOT QO'd. But he currently has no NHL contract, he could choose to sign with a non-NHL team. (Europe, ...)

Given his success last year, I suspect he will give his NHL dream more time

OFFICIAL: Hartford has signed a trio of quality vets to #AHL Deals •Vincent LoVerde (D) - he was on my list of players to get. Impressive resume. •Harry Zolnierczyk (F) - Consistent point producer •Tom McCollum (G) - Veteran G. That means Huska should be in Maine
Coupled with McKegg and O'Regan, I love what we just did for Hartford.

decent day for the pack adding some veterans...also like that some are AHL deals that won't need to pass thru waivers. obviously still need a coach. also waiting to see if JD bring in letestu

So we can be reasonably sure we'll have the following available for Hartford next year:

Goaltenders:
Huska
McCollum
Georgiev or Shesterkin

Defense:
Crawley
Day
Fox (maybe)
Hajek (maybe)
Keane
Lindgren
LoVerde
Raddysh
Reunanen
Rykov (maybe)

Forwards:
Beleskey
Dmowski
Elmer
Fogarty
Fontaine
Gettinger
Gropp
Jones
Leedahl
Lettieri
McKegg (maybe)
Meskanen
Newell
O'Regan
Ronning
Zerter-Gossage
Zolnierczyk

Should be able to pull a competetive team from that group.

Zolnierczyk-Fogarty-Lettieri
Gettinger-McKegg-Meskanen
Gropp-O'Regan-Elmer
Beleskey-Fontaine-Jones

LoVerde-Raddysh
Lindgren-Keane
Reunanen-Day

Something like that. Lots of guys to get in the lineup depending on how it all shakes out.

aside from the text in the NYR Dev Camp roster table, which i suspect may be an indirect (misleading) reference to those guys' spring ATO (which may have included a handshake agreement to invite to Dev Camp),
i have not seen other sources indicating either Dmowski or Zerter-Gossage are actually committed to HWP for '19-20

maybe i am wrong, feel free to set me straight

Nope, I haven't seen anything, either. I'm just assuming that if we brought them in last year and they played well, and we brought them to PDC, there's a good chance they'll get deals. Of course, they could be gone or just get ECHL deals.

10 D, including the 3 "maybe" guys. Crawley and Day gonna need strong camps and I wonder what will happen with Brendan Smith.

I thought the belief was Reunanen would head back to Europe for 1 more season?

Well, I know most people here assumed he'd play another year in Europe before coming over here. But, that was before he signed his ELC. He has a European Assignment Clause so he can go back under whatever circumstance his EAC specifies, but otherwise it would seem he's here for the season.
