nothing changes the fact that at 19:11 per game, Dougie has barely played top 4 minutes this year. (or last).

Let's just ignore his amazing stats even though his ice time makes his stats much better :laugh:

He's been playing as a top 2 D-man the last 6 games and he's been dominant as one. Enough said

just stating simple facts.

you guys are demanding a pretty high price for a guy your team has played as a #4/5 dman.

You're ignoring simple facts. You're literally living and dying by ice time when every single stat we have given you proves you unanimously wrong.

no you are ignoring the simple fact that he has barely played top 4 minutes, and ignoring the fact that this makes it easier for him to put up other good stats.

usage is very important. your team has consistently relied upon 3-4 other dmen more than dougie - much more.

the leafs have a similarly used dman in Gardiner, and he puts even more impressive possession numbers - but i would never pretend that these numbers would automatically continue with a bigger role.

Playing less minutes allows him to be our second highest scorer?

dougie is a good offensive dman, good for 40+ pts. nobody's denying that.

I heard jake gardiner and nylander ,little birdie at a junior game ,leafs might move em both for the right price ,

I don't have a strong opinion here either way but I do have a simple question for all you guys dumping on Zeke - if Hamilton is so clearly a top pairing guy, why is he playing so few minutes?

I don't think as of right now he is a top 2 guy but suggesting he is not a top 4 or even 5 guy is ridiculous. Hamilton would be a good pick up for us (leafs) but I have no doubt in my mind that lou would not offer marner or nylander for him. Of flames fans are not interested in a jvr type of return then I do not think its a good fit for Toronto or Calgary.

On a side note I could see a smaller deal taking place maybe someone like Holland or leivo?

Holland is terrible and Leivo isn't an NHL player.

I'm not sure what's going on with leivo but he proved last year he was ready for a shot in the NHL kid can score goals, his injury issues have really stalled him so far this year.

And Holland needs a change kinda like when Colburne was here , looks like same scenario

Holland does need a change of scenery. I heard tbe Swiss Alps are nice this time of year.

Hmm... he played 24+ minutes (second to Giordano, 4 minutes more than Brodie) last night. A PP assist and an SH assist.

Must be terrible to play that much time in all situations.

In his last 7 games Hamilton has played less than 20 minutes once, and that game he played 18 and a half. He also had 3 assists that game.

So he plays minutes. Let's stop that discussion.

I think the best Calgary is going to do from us player-wise is an NHL ready prospect like Leipsic or Kapanen and one of our bottom defenceman. I imagine a good pick would be involved as well.
