Calgary needs Hamilton as much as Toronto does. They can't afford to trade him, Gio, or Brodie unless they get a comparable dman back.

As a fan of both Alberta teams I would offer Puljujarvi for Hamilton . Fills Calgary RW need and the Oiler PPQB RHD needs . As an Oiler first fan I say we are weak at RW and I don't think Eberle will be with the Oilers long term . He just isn't a fit with Chia mind set on how the team should be .

Back to the Op . I don't think Kadri has that kind of value to put it mildly . I hate the player . I have since his first contract and his hold out but that aside he does have value with the way he plays he just doesn't fit a need with Calgary especial at the cost of a big RHD . Remember RHD are the most valuable commodity in the NHL .

Only deal that would make since for the Flames with be top 4 RW + top 4 RHD + 1st for Hamilton . Overpayment ? Maybe but with what Hamilton is projected to become I think it fair

Then the team must be pretty high in the standings with a top 5 GA's. Congrats must be fun watching your team. Maybe its Cup or bust for the Flames

Good luck!!!!

You know just because a D is struggle does not mean it has crap D . Sometimes it just isn't the right mix . Hall is miles better then Lucic yet the Oilers are better with Lucic . He brings a different look to a soft team .

Gardiner is not better then Giordano , Brodie or Hamilton . So that puts him at #4 . Do a poll if you think different

He would most certainly be #3 if he got traded for Hamilton. Saying Engelland or Wideman would be ahead f Gardiner is like saying Marincin or Carrick would be ahead of Hamilton.

He'd be the 3; but it'd be a step down. I don't see a trade either team could swing for Hamilton. It would start with Marner or Nylander and I don't think Toronto would like that.

no evidence?

he's barely top-4 on one of the worst teams in hockey, 2 years running.

on a team that just gave him $35m and has every reason to play him, no less.

Not sure if you're referring to Hamilton or Brodie but in both cases, you're absolutely right. Because analytics, real stats, etc... all point towards them being absolutely fantastic hockey players. But you're right, they're garbage :sarcasm:

Your best D-man in Rielly would be our #4 D-man. Give your head a shake. Lol so much wrong with your knowledge
so what is the problem in Calgary. you have this great defense and yet can't win

But you've had that D for much longer than 10 games :walrus:

Pretty much as soon as we put Hamilton on the top pairing our defense has looked ten times better. The splitting our 3 best defense up on seperate pairings was a disaster. Hamilton was with Grossman for 3 games. 11 GAs in our last 7 games, him and Gio haven't been scored against in forever.

Brodie getting over whatever his issues were also helped.

:laugh::laugh: this is one of the dumbest posts I've come across. Please don't post if you have literally zero clue what you're talking about :shakehead

You must be new here. But to say that Hamilton has, and deserves a few question marks is warranted. He drove himself out of Boston and there is evidence to suggest he's on his way of falling out of favor in Calgary. If he was the guy Calgary wanted there wouldn't be trade talk.

The Leafs traded scraps to calgary for a 24yr old Phaneuf. And Dion was a norris nominee, clearcut top pair dman on a team that was actually good in some years.

I don't know why we'd actually give up value for a guy who's barely a top 4 dman.

You keep repeating these things and yet you know absolutely nothing about Hamilton. Tell me, is it fun to live in your own little world? Hamilton is playing great on our top pairing while having better advanced stats, similar zone starts and similar points to the leafs own precious Reilly.

You regurgitate things spouted by yet more people who have no idea what they are talking about. Why?
