Ovechkin hasn't reached 1,600 yet. He has 1,570 points through 1,442 games and has been averaging about 0.95 PPG over the past three yeas. Assuming he gets there (which he will, barring a sudden career-ending injury), he'll likely displace Howe for 10th place - but it could be close.
Look at how Crosby and Ovechkin rank better, the higher up the list we go. That's a testament to how well they've aged.
Note - for these lists, I've simply slotted in Crosby and Ovechkin to the data in the first post. I haven't looked into whether anyone else may have passed them. (I don't think there would be many, but there could be a few).
