Last chance to stave off the ECHL?
AHL scheduling is funny. This is the first weekday game for the Moose this year. First 3 game road trip in a week. Maybe give all 3 goalies a shot this week.

Salomonsson is all over the score sheet, I'm going to eat crow on him. More impactful than Lambert so far.

Milwaukee has a couple of players who are likely to be fast tracked to the NHL this season.

Moose get the win in a shootout.

Salomonsson is easily the best prospect on the Moose. He's tracking to be an all around stud on the blueline. The kind of dmen all top teams would love in their top 4.

Kuzmin played his best game I've seen him play. Much more involved and was moving the puck well.

Chibrikov looks much better in his off the puck positioning. He was also making plays with the puck.

I caught the end of the game on radio broadcast. Chibrikov sending those rowdy Milwaukee kids home for some milk and cookies.

15 out of 36 shots came from the blueline today. 3 of the 4 goals. Moose look pretty weak up front without Lambert.

Salomonsson ended up a -1 that game, I noticed that he and Lundmark were back together, but it's encouraging news to see him playing such an impactful role already. Chibrikov could probably use some linemates that are at his skill level.

Mason Shaw seems like the kind of player who could get a callup this year for a gritty game. Pk was 4-4.

Salomonsson is such a great skater that his impact on the game will continue to grow as he gains more experience and confidence.

A future defence with Morrissey, Samberg, Salomonsson and possibly Freij will be a very mobile one indeed.

I like Pionk’s start, but when the game gets faster, that exposes Pionk’s foot speed. Similar to Stanley. Thats not an issue for Salomonsson.

One moment in the 2nd period last night Samberg recognized Pionk was going to get beat wide and beat Pionk and the Ranger player to the far post to force the player into the corner into a board battle. No shot. No scoring chance. Snerg can make that play because of his skating. Salomonsson might be a better skater than Samberg. If Salomonsson develops into a poor man’s Trouba (young Trouba), this defence is very very good.

Heinola / Salmonsson if Ville gets healthy could be a good puck moving pair. When Pionk is playing well, he's quite good.

Maybe Salo deserves a look with the big club sooner rather than later.

I'd be leaving him for the time being. He wasn't getting much in the way of offensive reps in Sweden nor would he get those on the Jets right now. He's getting them with the Moose and I think long term it's best I'd we can polish him into an elite all around dmen.

Watching the Moose and they are just getting killed. It's like a reverse of the Jets game earlier today.

Honestly they didn't do a very good job bringing in enough pieces to support our kids. Most of the vets on the team are incredibly mediocre.

Lambert is having a real off game, just misfiring on his passes and trying to force things that aren't there.

Chobrikov hasn't been noticeable.

Edit:

Probably the worst game I've seen the Moose play. If it wasn't for DiVincentiis it would have been 7 or 8 to 2.

They couldn't get out of their end, nor could they stay out of the box.

They may need to put Lambert and Chibrikov on the same line as neither is playing with enough talent atm.

Salomonsson looked solid and showed good board play and breakout ability.
It’s a shame they couldn’t or didn’t insulate the young prospects with some better vets to help keep them competitive.

Lots of losing can be disheartening for young players and then having them trying to do so much, negatively effecting their overall game and progression.

Tough to do when we're on a tear like we are

Even Heinola deserves every chance to show himself after basically making the team out of camp last year then all his bad luck

But how do you f*** with what this team has accomplished as is?

Great post.

Salmo's mobility is exceptional, and his vision allows him to see where he needs to be early enough to get there, which is a nice bonus. He is really starting to look like a future complete package, with that skating, some size and aggro, and a wrister that's weirdly effective for how awkward his release can look at times.

Like Lambo and Chibby, it's great to see a near-ideal trajectory developing in real time for a solid prospect. Great job to date by player and dev team.

Milic would probably like the last two goals back.
Likely won't be the starter for Chicago in the back to back.

Never want to start 2 men down in the first 2:15.

Lambert back in, Torgersson out, loaded up with Chibrikov and Anderson-Dolan, and that's the top line and top pairing out on the GWG. Two 4th line goals from Empey. Korchinski 1 assist, 4 shots, including a breakaway, looks like a good prospect for the Hawks.

Luckily for the Moose bottom 4 in that division have not separated themselves. Victory put Rockford into a tie with Moose at 8 points with one less game played (11). Chicago's on the bottom with 7 points in 10. Chance to stay out of the basement against the Wolves.

Is Lambert regressing or just a slow start/bad RNG?

Pretty much everyone except Salomonsson has started slow offensively. The team can't score. Lambert and Chibrikov really need to figure their shit out at 5 on 5, almost all their production is on the pp.

But this might be a sign that perhaps he and Chibrikov weren't as ready as we thought.

Milic having a real rough season so far. Only one game with > .900 save percentage. Hard to with goaltending like that from him. I get that he did his time in the ECHL last year but DiVincentiis who I imagine got sent down has been miles better and should have stayed up over him.

Chibs will be lucky to make the team next season.
