Should be a young team getting young guys tons of ice. Looking forward to seeing Testa flourish

I thought that he looked good last night. He almost scored.

It was fun seeing VanAcker, Wray and Testa making up an all 16 yr old line a few times.

The last time they did that it was Morrison/Hayes/Humphrey. I would take that kind of result again in a heartbeat.

That's what I was thinking. Should see one or two D on the current roster moved out. Our current #6-7 D situation is already not good. Going to be some growing pains after the deadline.

Ya, I would think White and Grush will be on the move. We will see soon enough.

I was thinking we’d see more trades across the OHL and possibly with the Bulldogs following the slew of trades earlier in the week. Now it seems that it’s going to remain quiet until the WJCs finish today. Probably see some trades tomorrow unless a player leaks their own trade like Taylor Raddysh did after the 2018 WJCs (took a picture wearing a Soo jersey).

While I have no clue how it’s going to unfold for Hamilton, my guess is Morrison and White get moved. Hayes and Grush stay. Hopefully we acquire another young player or two, but we also need picks. We’ll see…

Looks like Hayes and White are out of the lineup tonight.

Surprised that Morrison is in.

Something maybe close to being done with them?

I'd imagine nothing will happen with Morrison until the dust settles on the Wright trade.

I find it really odd that Morrison was in the lineup last night.

Maybe he has refused to be traded?
Seems like unless the deal is done they are going to play guys. I'm on the fence with that decision.

I can't imagine he wants to stick around for the growing pains the rest of the year, but that'll be his choice I suppose.

I have mixed feelings about that as well. It’s risky, even if he isn’t injury prone.

As much as I like Morrison and would love to see him finish as a Bulldog, he holds the most value among our OAs, so I hope he is traded because it would help the team in the long run. It could also be beneficial for him to go on another deep run as he tries to earn a pro contract. However, even Matt Strome didn’t want to be traded and the Bulldogs respected his wishes. One benefit to keeping him is that it would keep some stability in the dressing room among the leadership, which is also good for the younger guys.

Just piggybacking off discussions on other boards, looks like Hayes and White are going to be dealt to the Petes and it’s likely Lardis is part of the return. I wouldn’t mind that at all.

Hoping the Dogs are able to acquire some picks out of it to help continue to stock the cupboard.

Haven’t heard much regarding Morrison. Some Ottawa discussion buts that’s about it. Posters here may be correct in assuming he’s staying. They could have talked to him and he’s decided to stay put. Who knows?

Wonder if a team like North Bay or Saginaw would have interest. Not sure on the quality of their respective OA’s and if it’s a fit.

I still think Grushnikov stays. Really enjoy watching him play so selfishly I hope this is the outcome.

Anyone have a player that has not been talked about that they think might get moved?

Might go check the game out this evening.

Have to believe a Morrison trade doesn't happen until the Wright deal is done or a team drops out on Wright and wants to add Morrison before they are left holding neither.

Looking like Morrison is headed to Ottawa.

They've been quiet so far. I would expect that they would make a few big moves.

An interesting thought that I hadn’t considered too much… I’m catching up and watching the IceDogs vs Bulldogs game from just over a week ago (I record all home and away games to watch later). While listening to Reed and Norm, they were talking about the possibility that Alek Sotek could join the Bulldogs after the World Juniors and well have to wait and see what happens.

They didn’t hint towards any likeliness but said that we’ll have to wait and see if anything happens with him. This then got me thinking that this is when Mysak committed a couple years ago. Sotek just won a silver medal with Czechia and may want to transition to the North American game after playing on NA ice at the World Juniors. He will be 19 in a month and is undrafted, so it could be an opportunity for him to try and get noticed.

Whether or not it happens, it’s an interesting possibility.

With that tweet posted in the 67’s board, I’d be happy with multiple picks for Morrison. We already received young bodies in Testa, Lloyd, and hopefully Lardis. Recouping picks would really help with rebuild.

I'm starting to think that by accumulating young pieces they plan for the draft pick stock to be fine when they are ready to compete. Add a pick here and there and don't move your own over the next 2 years.

I am fine if a player decides to use his right to not be traded. Would love the assets back, but it doesn't hurt the current team to have him around.

Helps some of the guys grow and he will secure the all time team points lead.

We will see what happens.

Morrison is a centre. Why would he care about Lardis as a centre?

And how would staying with Hamilton improve his draft stock?

None of what you said made sense.
