Lardis usually plays RW does he not?
I *think* the poster meant it would be good for Lardis and his draft stock, but why would Morrison care about that? That was sort of my point. Morrison was playing with Hayes who is a far superior player than Lardis right now. Why would Morrison think playing with Lardis would be a positive for him? He could play with far superior players surrounding him in Ottawa and go on a real playoff run again.
It makes no sense at all.
Morrison would not be the first player that wanted to complete his OHL career with one team; and he would probably have his name at the top of all-time bulldogs everything. It’s potentially a lot to be proud of 35 years from now. That was sort of my point. Morrison was playing with Hayes who is a far superior player than Lardis right now. Matthew Strome vetoed a trade so he could finish his career in Hamilton just a few years ago. It happens.
Who knows what other factors are involved...
I agree. Matt Strome is one who was rumoured to have wanted to stay and didn’t want to be traded. I’d imagine Logan Morrison has a NTC like most first round picks. The picks Hamilton could get for him would help greatly for the rebuild, but he can’t be faulted for wanting to stay and finish his OHL career as a Bulldog.Morrison would not be the first player that wanted to complete his OHL career with one team; and he would probably have his name at the top of all-time bulldogs everything. I do think that in terms of Morrison and a pro career, it may benefit him better to go to a contender so that he has higher exposure for earning a pro contract afterward. But again, it’s up to him and what he wants.
I think pro teams already know what he is. Very very high hockey IQ, great passer, good shot, but below average skater and not at all physical. He is so smart that he can dominate at this level despite his limitations.I agree. Matt Strome is one who was rumoured to have wanted to stay and didn’t want to be traded. It would be weird to just find this out now though, no? Wouldn’t you think the GM would have spoken to all three of the OA’s to get a sense on what they wanted to do?
Based on the Tweet today by someone rather credible in Ottawa, Boyd was set to announce him coming to Ottawa. IF this ends up being a case of a trade made and then veto’d by the player you’d think that would be super unprofessional on the Hamilton side not speaking to the player prior to the trade being made, no?
Looks like Morrison to Ottawa is done?
two 2nds
two 3rds
two 4ths
Think this is why until something is confirmed we are all just speculating and are full of it.
I had heard all year Hayes had told management that it was Flint or nowhere for him.
Agreed. I remember watching him at the OHL Cup with Guelph. Can’t believe that was 5 years ago . You could tell he was going to be a great OHL player. What a career as a Bulldog for him. Will always be one of the best.1 of, if not the, best junior player drafted and developed in this franchises short history. He'd have very impressive junior career stats if it wasn't for the lost covid year.
Morrison is a stud. The game slows down on this stick.JF Plant has confirmed it. He is a sports writer for LeDroit. That is the French newspaper in Ottawa. He has to live up to journalist confirmations. he wouldn’t post it as “C’est Fait” or “it’s done” unless it was.
I would expect a Media release fromt he Ottawa 67’s imminently.

Thank you Logan! It’s been a great ride. All the best in Ottawa.
I like the return. The draft pick cupboard has been restocked with all the recent deals.
I would figure the Dogs are just about done dealing.
Where does that leave us in terms of OA’s on the roster? Just the one now with Panwar? Could we maybe add one at a lesser cost prior to the deadline possible via waivers or trade? A bit of additional leadership/experience in the room down the stretch.
Hope it works out for you like it did for us. Except I now have like 3 other teams to cheer for.I think you need to look at this as a Morrison this year for Xhekaj last year. Almost identical deal.
I think this is the best value an Overage has ever brought in. Nice get for Ottawa really doesn't harm them as they had a ton of picks. And nice rebuild of draft capital over the last few trades with Hamilton. Bring in Lardis, Testa, Lloyd, 5 2nds, 3 3rds, 2 4ths, and other later picks and conditional ones for Morrison, Hayes, Diaco, Constitini, Winterton and Humphrey. Only guy that brought nothing in was Durate.I think you need to look at this as a Morrison this year for Xhekaj last year. Almost identical deal.
