Lardis usually plays RW does he not?

That was sort of my point. Morrison was playing with Hayes who is a far superior player than Lardis right now. Why would Morrison think playing with Lardis would be a positive for him? He could play with far superior players surrounding him in Ottawa and go on a real playoff run again.

It makes no sense at all.

I *think* the poster meant it would be good for Lardis and his draft stock, but why would Morrison care about that?

Ya, it didn't make much sense.

As far as I'm concerned if they trade him the team is better off, but he's earned the right to stay here and break the record if he wants to.

I'm fine with either.

Morrison would not be the first player that wanted to complete his OHL career with one team; and he would probably have his name at the top of all-time bulldogs everything. It’s potentially a lot to be proud of 35 years from now.

Matthew Strome vetoed a trade so he could finish his career in Hamilton just a few years ago. It happens.

Who knows what other factors are involved...

1 of, if not the, best junior player drafted and developed in this franchises short history. He'd have very impressive junior career stats if it wasn't for the lost covid year.

Ah! Ok! I didn’t read it like that. That makes more sense. But for sure. Why would Morrison care at all?

Very possible but not many players choose that course. Most want to win. Kudos to him if that ends up being his choice. He’d play pro games at the end of the season much sooner, that is for sure. So there is that as well.

It's not like he's already a thousand miles from home. Family is close. Girlfriend is close. Captain. Franchise points leader in view.

On a unrelated topic, I know of a player that is very frustrated with their playing time right now. Could be a key 3rd line guy by the end of the weekend. Lol.

I agree. Matt Strome is one who was rumoured to have wanted to stay and didn’t want to be traded. I’d imagine Logan Morrison has a NTC like most first round picks. The picks Hamilton could get for him would help greatly for the rebuild, but he can’t be faulted for wanting to stay and finish his OHL career as a Bulldog.

I do think that in terms of Morrison and a pro career, it may benefit him better to go to a contender so that he has higher exposure for earning a pro contract afterward. But again, it’s up to him and what he wants.

It would be weird to just find this out now though, no? Wouldn’t you think the GM would have spoken to all three of the OA’s to get a sense on what they wanted to do?

Based on the Tweet today by someone rather credible in Ottawa, Boyd was set to announce him coming to Ottawa. IF this ends up being a case of a trade made and then veto’d by the player you’d think that would be super unprofessional on the Hamilton side not speaking to the player prior to the trade being made, no?

Looks like Morrison to Ottawa is done?

two 2nds
two 3rds
two 4ths

Translation:
It's done ✅. The MVP of the last @Ohlhockey series Logan Morrison @BulldogsOHL is coming to the @Ottawa67sHockey. 2nd in OHL scoring this year. A bunch of picks head for Hamilton. No Ottawa players involved.

I think pro teams already know what he is. Very very high hockey IQ, great passer, good shot, but below average skater and not at all physical. He is so smart that he can dominate at this level despite his limitations.

I don't think going to a contender changes any of that.

Think this is why until something is confirmed we are all just speculating and are full of it.

I had heard all year Hayes had told management that it was Flint or nowhere for him.

JF Plant has confirmed it. He is a sports writer for LeDroit. That is the French newspaper in Ottawa. He has to live up to journalist confirmations. he wouldn’t post it as “C’est Fait” or “it’s done” unless it was.

I would expect a Media release fromt he Ottawa 67’s imminently.

The Ottawa 67’s have acquired Logan Morrison from the Hamilton Bulldogs in exchange for 6 draft picks (2x2nds, 2x3rds and 2x4ths) and no players going to Hamilton. Morrison is the 2nd leading scorer in the OHL after putting up 100 points last year and named OHL playoff MVP.

Agreed. I remember watching him at the OHL Cup with Guelph. Can’t believe that was 5 years ago 😬. You could tell he was going to be a great OHL player. What a career as a Bulldog for him. Will always be one of the best.

Morrison is a stud. The game slows down on this stick.

The reality of junior hockey, but go through last years roster and look at all the players that make you feel some feels.

He’s been my #1 target since the season started. IMO he is the best centre int he league and that includes a league with Shane Wright in it.

I’ve said since day one that if the 67’s want to make an impact, Logan Morrison needs to be their #1 target. There is no sense going after a player like Shane Wright over Logan Morrison. We assumed Morrison would be a draft pick trade and half the cost of a player like Shane Wright and a more impactful player.

I don’t care what Sarnia has done with DelBelBelluz and DelMastro. If Ottawa follows this up with Mintyukov, the two players acquired are better than what Sarnia has done. I like Beck in Peterborough as well but Morrison is a more impactful player for the next five months than Beck.

Thank you Logan! It’s been a great ride. All the best in Ottawa.

I like the return. The draft pick cupboard has been restocked with all the recent deals.

I would figure the Dogs are just about done dealing.

Where does that leave us in terms of OA’s on the roster? Just the one now with Panwar? Could we maybe add one at a lesser cost prior to the deadline possible via waivers or trade? A bit of additional leadership/experience in the room down the stretch.

I think you need to look at this as a Morrison this year for Xhekaj last year. Almost identical deal.

Hope it works out for you like it did for us. Except I now have like 3 other teams to cheer for.

I think this is the best value an Overage has ever brought in. Nice get for Ottawa really doesn't harm them as they had a ton of picks. And nice rebuild of draft capital over the last few trades with Hamilton. Bring in Lardis, Testa, Lloyd, 5 2nds, 3 3rds, 2 4ths, and other later picks and conditional ones for Morrison, Hayes, Diaco, Constitini, Winterton and Humphrey. Only guy that brought nothing in was Durate.

But in your heart, you really know there is only one…..

You can’t cheer for purple. That is jUst wrong. And who really likes the colour green?
