Those are excellent points, and a trade may not change any of that, but I do think having that continued high exposure in a deep run can help his chances.I think pro teams already know what he is. Very very high hockey IQ, great passer, good shot, but below average skater and not at all physical. He is so smart that he can dominate at this level despite his limitations.
I don't think going to a contender changes any of that.
Even though he isn’t the best skater or a physical player, I do think his offensive production speaks volumes to what he can offer and the potential he has as a pro. His consistency in producing points for over long streaks and throughout the entire playoffs and Memorial Cup, and during this season, has been incredible.
I was shocked when he left the Dallas Stars camp without an ELC or AHL contract after he was invited.
** While typing, saw Morrison looks to be traded to Ottawa based on media, but we’ll wait for official confirmation. Whether it happens or not, hopefully he earns a pro contract at the end of the season.
