I think pro teams already know what he is. Very very high hockey IQ, great passer, good shot, but below average skater and not at all physical. He is so smart that he can dominate at this level despite his limitations.

I don't think going to a contender changes any of that.
Those are excellent points, and a trade may not change any of that, but I do think having that continued high exposure in a deep run can help his chances.

Even though he isn’t the best skater or a physical player, I do think his offensive production speaks volumes to what he can offer and the potential he has as a pro. His consistency in producing points for over long streaks and throughout the entire playoffs and Memorial Cup, and during this season, has been incredible.

I was shocked when he left the Dallas Stars camp without an ELC or AHL contract after he was invited.

** While typing, saw Morrison looks to be traded to Ottawa based on media, but we’ll wait for official confirmation. Whether it happens or not, hopefully he earns a pro contract at the end of the season.

Anyone care to guess on F lines tonight?

Testa Sherk Thomas
Vanacker Wray Lardis
Panwar O'Keefe Xhekaj
Rebelo Nelson Andersson

D the same as last night

Thank you Logan! It’s been a great ride. All the best in Ottawa.

I like the return. The draft pick cupboard has been restocked with all the recent deals.

I would figure the Dogs are just about done dealing.

Where does that leave us in terms of OA’s on the roster? Just the one now with Panwar? Could we maybe add one at a lesser cost prior to the deadline possible via waivers or trade? A bit of additional leadership/experience in the room down the stretch.
bring back Durate!

I won't argue you on any of your positive Morrison points. I love him. I agree with you on it being ridiculous he doesn't have a contract.

I just can see the argument for why it hasn't happened.

I think this is the best value an Overage has ever brought in. Nice get for Ottawa really doesn't harm them as they had a ton of picks. And nice rebuild of draft capital over the last few trades with Hamilton. Bring in Lardis, Testa, Lloyd, 5 2nds, 3 3rds, 2 4ths, and other later picks and conditional ones for Morrison, Hayes, Diaco, Constitini, Winterton and Humphrey. Only guy that brought nothing in was Durate.

WJ
Agree I don't remember such a high price for an OA. Looks like it cost us two fourths extra. But hey sellers market this year and we needed that #1 center so gotta pay the piper! All and all good deal for both teams imo.

C has to go to Sherk or Donovan.

All this excitement for a young team and they will announce next week they are leaving for next year and not coming back.

Not sure where the goals are going to come from the rest of the season. That’s a underwhelming forward group.

I expect them to make a real run at missing the playoffs and having a lottery pick.

I'm going to games excited to see the growth and future of the team. I'm looking forward to it BUT there are going to be some long nights and bad results.

Indeed. Going to the game tonight and maybe we’ll see Lardis in the lineup.

Could be tough on the eyes some nights going forward. 😆

I can't even guess who the 7th D is on this team. They will have to sign someone if they dont bring in a vet at low cost. What if they hold Gruahnikov out tonight?

He’s been my #1 target since the season started. IMO he is the best centre int he league and that includes a league with Shane Wright in it.

I’ve said since day one that if the 67’s want to make an impact, Logan Morrison needs to be their #1 target. There is no sense going after a player like Shane Wright over Logan Morrison. We assumed Morrison would be a draft pick trade and half the cost of a player like Shane Wright and a more impactful player.

I don’t care what Sarnia has done with DelBelBelluz and DelMastro. If Ottawa follows this up with Mintyukov, the two players acquired are better than what Sarnia has done. I like Beck in Peterborough as well but Morrison is a more impactful player for the next five months than Beck.

I'm biased, but I totally agree.

Morrison just does everything right. He makes everybody better. Ottawa will love him.

I guess I'm a 67s fan when the season is over. Although Hamilton might play them in the first round.lol

This team will get VERY few wins from here on out though. Hard to fathom where the scoring will come from.

Guess they could be using Lloyd tonight?

I don’t think Grushnikov is moving on.

I would think that it will be Sherk.

Do you know something that we don't about an announcement?

After all this, not even one mention of Panwar.

Sad. Such disrespect. Legend!

So I was scrolling through the Petes Twitter to look up previous lines. Since around early-mid December, Lardis has been LW and Panwar has been C, sometimes on the same line. I did see a game where Lardis was RW. I don’t know if Lardis is naturally LW or RW, but that’s what I found.

In terms of OA’s, it will be interested to see what else (if anything) Hamilton does.

Edit: @OMG67 looks like I was a few seconds too late lol

Beck has been the best 2-way OHL centre for me so far.

I think between Wright, Beck and Morrison, it all depends on which way you lean.

Morrison add so much offence by comparison. Beck in the faceoff dot and Wright on pure defensive coverage without the puck. Depends on what the team needs most.

From what I’ve seen, Lardis is better as a RW; at least gets better shots off. He has played a lot of LW to keep him in the top 9, I think.

Morrison is a centre. Why would he care about Lardis as a centre?

And how would staying with Hamilton improve his draft stock?

None of what you said made sense.
Lardis has a high end centre to play with to improve his nhl stock value. hence waived his no trade
