In my opinion bungies storylines were above average. 343 has been pretty lackluster (haven’t played infinites campaign yet).

I’m not sure how far into it you guys are but where I got to last night made it a lot more than just MC Vs. covenant 2.0. The story is actually really good imo.

Haven't played the campaign yet. Would Heoric difficulty be too challenging for a Halo noob like myself? I'm Gold 1 in ranked for reference

I would say yes. I’m plat 5 playing on normal just to enjoy the game and get lost in the world. Definitely too easy at times for me but the odd boss does provide challenge at times. Kinda up to you. I went for just getting immersed into the world over enemy challenge. If you want more difficulty go for heroic.

Halo's best played on heroic imo.

Legendary isn't bad depending on the game. 1 and 3 are pretty good on it, 4 is a god damn slog because of the lack of ammo/weapon sandbox and 2 should only be attempted on legendary if you're prepared for pain.

I tried 2 on legendary last week and it took me like 2 damn hours just to beat Cairo Station

Heroic. Halo is better with a little bit of challenge. Playing Normal your mistakes aren’t punished as much as they should be IMO. Plus it’ll help your multiplayer skills as well

From reddit

hey everyone - Last weekend I said I'd be back once we had updates to share around near term playlist plans for Halo Infinite. I'm happy to report that a Slayer playlist is officially locked and loaded for the update next week. Four new playlists: Slayer, Fiesta, FFA, and Tactical Slayer (SWAT) will all be added via a services update on Tuesday, Dec. 14.
As I noted last week, the team's original plans for a Slayer playlist included a variety of new variants that weren't going to be ready in time to deploy before the holiday break. To address player feedback for Slayer in the near term, we'll be releasing a basic Slayer offering to start and will look to bolster and expand with more variants in a future update.
Next week's update will also include adjustments to challenges including removing some particularly frustrating mode-specific ones, reducing some requirements for others, making the weekly ultimate challenge less intensive (getting there is tough enough), and adding brand new challenges specific to the new playlists. Personally I'm eager to check out a new challenge category that's based on accumulating player score (a small initial step towards 'performance based XP'). We'll have some more details to share on Halo Waypoint next week.
Lastly, on a semi-related note - please know that the team is aware of and actively investigating reports of intermittent hiccups affecting some players in BTB over the last few days. Additionally, the team is continuing to review Ranked matchmaking and player feedback around potential anomalies.
Thank you to everyone who has shared constructive feedback and filed support tickets for issues you're running into! More to come. Have a great weekend!

Tuesday is when the challenges and shit reset too so that seems like a pretty logical time to add those. All in all sounds like a legitimate positive step for the health of the game

The challenge changes sound good too. A lot of the more trivial ones (get x kills with y weapon) become easier by proxy with fiesta being a thing again and the move towards performance based XP sound really good, even if it is a baby step.

Some of the challenges were straight BS and I had to burn all 4 of the swaps you got through that game pass perk bundle.

The only thing I'd like to see now is an old school King of the Hill mode but with strongholds essentially being it, that probably won't happen. Always preferred the absolute shitshow KOTH turned into than the constantly running from point to point you get with strongholds

The spawns in this game are f***ing garbage and that's because the game's AI doesn't factor in when people are constantly running across the entire map.

Sprint is fine. This game is actually designed around it unlike 4 and 5 so it doesn't stick out much.

The spawning definitely seems a bit quirky depending on the mode. I spawned right in the sightlines of a couple enemies on recharge strongholds. I've only noticed this on Recharge though. The rest of the maps seem pretty well balanced.

I have yet to have any issues with spawning in multiplayer, but sprinting just needs to be there to keep the franchise modern.

That's because you have no idea.

I played recharge and had three players spawn in the room next to me.

There can definitely be some issues with Spawning in smaller maps. I have spawned many times being shot and it feels like your character might be on the map a half-second or so before you realize it. I see guys on my team standing still a ton after respawn. They just need to add a few more spawn locations that are not visible from distance.

I started on Normal more so because I'm interested in finding the collectables and I don't want to deal with all the nonsense. I'm not a campaign guy but this open-world one is a ton of fun. I really think they nailed it and I'm sure they will drop additional missions at some point. I'll say I'm pretty good at this game and there are some portions even on Normal that are a bitch.

For collectables, you need to secure FOB's and then they will show up on your map, make sure it's zoomed in. Once you skyjack or find a Banjee it's easy to scoop everything up.

I am liking the campaign so far, haven’t even gone to the main objective (dig site) because I’ve been exploring and unlocking all the bases and outposts.

My only gripe is I wish they allowed you to rotate the map. Would help in understanding the terrain if you are in a vehicle.

The map on campaign needs a way to get rid of completed activities so that the map is a little cleaner.

As for spawns, I’ll just say I’ve become accustomed to the COD multiplayer spawns the last 5 years where you spawn and die immediately multiple times a match, and I’ve not experienced anything near that. THAT is what I would consider awful.

Also, I’m fairly certain they can and will drop a BR onto this campaign map.

I’m not super far into the campaign yet, probably 3 hours. But the banished buildings and outposts are pretty dull and boring to me. Like forge pieces with red trim. Meh.

So I've been doing a melee only Halo campaign on easy just to see if it can be done. And up to a certain point it can. This boss you can't finish as you can see here so this is as far as I've gotten - the Adjunct Resolution.

For this boss as well you need to get angles on the different parts of the vehicle but the grapple falls short...really short on usability. The range on this is miniscule but the boss disappearing in the final phase is just unwinnable.

Moving along in campaign, not really that interested in the open world stuff yet...couple FOBs...meh.... Ended up doing some while traveling to get beacons

Dunno how far along I am..
