Halo: Infinite (Dec. 8th, 2021) - Xbox Series X

  • Xenforo Cloud will be upgrading us to version 2.3.5 on March 3rd at 12 AM GMT. This version has increased stability and fixes several bugs. We expect downtime for the duration of the update. The admin team will continue to work on existing issues, templates and upgrade all necessary available addons to minimize impact of this new version. Click Here for Updates
Start a new game, its in the options there. Or wait for them to implement mission select, that will likely have it.

Im collecting all the skulls, but dont plan on using them til co-op is implemented. Then Ill do a coop LASO run.
You don’t have to start a new game to activate skulls. You can put them in your current game.

Amazing that they added more playlists and the matchmaking times didn't suddenly become incredibly slow

Saw more people in my friends list playing yesterday and we had a lot more fun getting to play what we felt like playing.

Yeah it felt great to play slayer, fiesta and Swat. And it made going into a ranked game and getting CTF not so bad because we could just always go back to Slayer when we wanted to reset

Hope they fix BTB soon.

I hope 343 releases a roadmap of season 1 soon. There have been leaks of upcoming events this month into February, but it would be nice to get a roadmap of what is to be expected, since this Battle Pass goes until May apparently.

I know I’m in minority on this, but I’m fine with the current selection of maps. That being said, with Forge delayed for a while, it’s pretty reasonable to expect some new maps added before then

It's available to start until May but once you purchase it you have "forever" to complete it. They stated you can have multiple BP's going at once and decide which one you want to allocate the XP towards. So, I can't imagine they will wait till May to release another one as that's counterintuitive to making money. The Season def goes through May but what about more BP's.

As far as the weekly challenges the only thing that was decent was last week's sniper.

Have they indicated another battle pass is coming before May? I haven’t seen anything that would make it seem like it would. Seems like they’ll drop events in to mix it up. These are the leaked ones so far.

Halo Infinite Winter Contingency Christmas Event: Start Time, Rewards, Unlocks
Halo Infinite Cyber Showdown Event Rewards & Release Date Leak

The Fracture event is coming back 1/4 as well.

No, they have not said anything about another BP and I know about the events. I think most people will be done with the BP in the next month. Are they just going to roll with separate events until May? I'm looking at other FTP games with BP's. They usually roll out every 60 days or so.

Play the game because you like the game.

If you need to be rewarded with goodies to enjoy the experience, maybe you’d be better off playing a game you didnt require built-in-bribery to play?

Im at level 50 of the battle-pass and have not attempted to complete a single challenge. Every bit of EXP I got was completely on accident, earned in the natural course of playing a game I enjoy playing.

Everybody understands the thrill of unlocking something in a game, but that shouldnt be the focus of the entire experience. Play Halo to enjoy Halo, not to unlock goodies for the sake of a dopamine hit.

Just watched the first little bit of their livestream. Some things they said they’re looking into and will continue with after they return from break…

- SHOULD be a BTB update today.
- Will keep adding playlists, including ranked, that’s top of mind
- Work on regular balance patches
- Winter Contingency event isn’t as much an event as it is a Advent calender. Log in, do one daily challenge, and you get something. Only 10 days long.
- Still working on XP system and improving it
- All ranked models, including backfill, MMR, etc
- Customization and looking at the store. They admitted that the devs and the people in charge of stores need to communicate more.
- Fractured event comes back 1/4 with some big changes. Less challenge swaps and XP boosts, more armor that should not have been in the store only to begin with. Future event challenges won’t get stuck behind regular weekly challenges and you’ll be able to progress easier.

Think that was the gist of it. Didn’t catch it all though. They’re obviously listening to people that have legit criticism and don’t threaten their lives but some things take more time than others.

They built the game and it's monetization strategy around that dopamine hit, so it's no surprise that so many players are focused on chasing it. These companies hire psychologists to figure out how to get players hooked to their progression systems and how to frustrate them just enough to spend money on it.

While I follow this when I play the game as I don't care about the battlepass nor its rewards, some people just like grinding rewards. To each their own.

Grinding for the rewards is fine. I think the thing is people forget grinding for unlocks and shit didn't just suddenly pop up recently. Dudes were grinding for camos, armor pieces or whatever going back to the 360 days. Some people just like being reward. It's just now it draws more attention because of battle passes

Hell, MLB: The Show's whole selling point is that. The amount of free rewards that game vomits up for even people who just want to play a bit is absurd. The best reward in their monthly program/track is usually in the middle too and the rest is for the hardcores who want more shit to work towards. No paid battle pass either.

It got to the point where the grind started to override just playing the game to enjoy baseball and all of the issues the game had. I tapped out after all the landslide of content they added during the postseason.

I personally play Halo both to have fun and to get extra enjoyment out of unlocking stuff

Are they seriously not going to have recent games or ways to view your stats on Halo: Waypoint? That has to be coming at some time right?

Halodatahive is the way to go for that.

I think that's really shitty they don't keep track of stats anymore. Again, this was something done in Halo games since Halo 2. It's kind of inexcusable that i can't find any of my stats in the game itself. Little things like this are being constantly stripped away and people just accept it as the new normal.

Swat is so easy if you play with intelligence. Always have the better position and be careful going around corners. Had like a 3.0 KD yesterday lmao.

That's cool for you but most games have some type of progression system ongoing, this one it appears doesn't. Halo Reach took years to complete. They decided with this multiplayer it would be FTP but with BP's six months apart? It's contrary to their model and could significantly impact the player base. It's possible this game is so far behind and with work on Forge, Coop and BR they don't have the manpower to do more.

Ha, the Show can take over your life.

This has become more and more common practice in multiplayer FPS games since Overwatch did it to an overwhelmingly positive response.

Without the stats at hand, players actually put more focus on playing the objective instead of worrying about juicing their K/D.

Now they just leave it to stat-tracker sites for the hardcore players that want to see their stats. Which isn't a big deal in this day and age, cause everybody games near a cell-phone or tablet they can take a look at between games.
