Campaign drops in a week. Wonder when the embargo lifts. I’ve heard multiple people who played it for preview comparing the map to the Arkham games, and that’s all I needed to hear.

Is there something screwy with the servers?

I was playing earlier and i noticed i dumped an entire pistol clip into a guy's head with nearly drained shields and somehow didn't land a single hit and died. I also noticed a handful of times i died when i had already cleared a corner/guy's line of sight.

Reminds me of when overwatch launched with 20 tickrate servers and the game suffered immensely for it until they upgraded it shortly after

That’s been happening for me for a while. I’ve stopped playing until they fix it.

I thought maybe it was just me. I've been getting shot from behind cover quite a bit, and on the other side I've noticed myself getting kills where it seemed like the other player had gotten into cover before I fired my last shot.

Massive changes coming. They followed up quick.

So for seven games, you'll basically go up one level. It's something
I care a lot less about the progression but I’m just going to guess the same people that complained about this will now be done with the Battle Pass in a week and wondering what else there is to do.

This season goes through May but I assume they are going to release additional Battle Passes throughout the season.

So after playing the game a good 20 hours, i think i've come up with a comprehensive list of what i think needs to be changed for this to be healthy/enjoyable. Their changes in progression are definitely a step in the right direction so it shows they're paying attention.

- Cheaters need to be dealt with as soon as humanly possible. 343 saying "oh this is inevitable but we're doing what we can" is such an awful explanation. If you knew this was coming with F2P, why were you not better prepared? Warzone, Fortnite and pretty much every other popular F2P got hammered by cheaters and yet they're still a problem

- Playlists. More doesn't need to be said. Bonus here is letting people play how they want will also give you a boost on progession on top of what you added already. I think this change alone would be the last thing needed to get people to stop whining about progression.

-Grenade spam. Halo has always had a pretty significant grenade metagame but this game is absurd with it. Every CQC/zone capture turns into throwing anywhere from 6-10 nades rather than gun/team fights. Take nade spawns off the map since then you only spawn with 2 and that *should* be enough to curb it for the most part. That or make plasma grenades more abundant since they don't travel/bounce

Server lag/desync. Not fun dumping a whole clip into a guy, having maybe half the shots register and losing what should have been an easily winnable gun fight.

Adjustments to aim assist would also be greatly appreciated. I get that aim assist is necessary to make an FPS playable on controller but when controller players are averaging 10% higher accuracy than keyboard and mouse players we have a severe problem lol

This is a great thing but I prefer how the one ranked playlist lets you choose between controller-only players. I want both ranked playlists to have this.

I really feel like people are overselling the grenade spam issue.

The grenades do very little damage compared to other Halo games.

Yes, in objective modes, you're going to get players hurling grenades into the area they need to contest or defend. This was always true of Halo games. The play has always been to clear out enemies from the area before securing the objective.

I think rather than taking grenade spawns off the map, you simply shouldn't be able to pick up grenades off enemies when you kill them. You need the grenade spawns for specialized grenades.

As far as the playlists, I have little sympathy for people that can't just deal with playing some different modes. It's a shooter. No matter what the mode is, you're spending 90% of the time shooting other players. Assuming you aren't trash, even if you put zero effort into the objective, if you still go strong positive, you're helping your team. It's the morons that run around ignoring the objective AND constantly die, leaving their team to play 3v4 most of the match that are unbearable.

I think you are missing a big point about this. I even posted a video about it. People are quitting matches because they aren't getting the playlist they need for challenges. That affects EVERYONE. When teams get filled with bots because people are leaving matches, its a big issue imo.

I'd argue the solution to that is to eliminate mode-specific challenges, rather than create playlists to accommodate EXP whores.

Honestly, again, I don't have much sympathy for players that are fixated on customization carrots on a stick, Play the game to have fun in the match.

I agree with you to eliminate mode-specific challenges, however, I don't agree with you about playlists. You say to "Play the game to have fun" but a lot of people don't have fun playing certain modes. I don't understand how you are so nonchalant about how others like to play games. Back in the COD days, I only played Domination. I realize its not the most popular mode, but it was my favorite. After some time with Halo, I'm going to eventually have a favorite mode type and am going to want to play that. To say that, "its a shooter and spending 90% of the time shooting other players" is a very narrow take. Some players like to help in ways they can. If im not a good Slayer, I try to help my team in other ways and just shooting 90% of the time isn't going to do that.

Why should i be forced to play objective modes after the last 20 or so years of Halo let me play just slayer if i wanted?

That's incredibly arrogant. "I like it like this therefore so will the rest of you"

I have my favorite modes too. My favorite mode is CTF, and I could really care less about Slayer, because honestly, at the end of the day, 90% of any match is Slayer. I roll my eyes at SWAT players, because I feel like they're the playing the wrong game. I don't understand the mindset of 'hey, let me play this game with a higher TTK and all sorts of different weapons, just so we can eliminate all the mechanics that differentiate it so I can 1shot kids with my spawn weapon'.

But when Slayer comes up in playlists (or SWAT in previous games), I didn't stomp my feet and pout, I played my best, finished the match, hoped for a different mode next game.

Everyone has favorite game modes and when there is no dedicated playlists for certain modes, its frustrating for players when their fav modes don't come up in over 3 hours of gameplay. That's not an exaggeration either. Its already happened to me several times.

Yeah I don't give a shit about completing challenges, I haven't even looked at them. But when me my friends want to play a specific mode and it never comes up it's disappointing. It's hard to get everyone together sometimes and we might only play a few matches.

Right, so you do care what mode comes up. Wouldn't getting to uncheck slayer from your search be a better system then just hoping it doesn't come up again?

I've stated before that I'd like some level of 'bad luck protection' in the playlists to prevent the same mode from appearing too many times in a row, and to prevent a mode from not appearing for too long a period.

That said, there isn't a mode I really revile. I'm happy to play with friends through any number of modes.

I agree it's not a massive issue for people like me who prefer objective modes but every other first person shooter in existence allows you to choose the game mode you want to play. There is no good reason to not be able to do so.

Guess what. That's you and your friends. Not everyone likes that so you should stop trying to force your clown ass opinions on everyone.

As a player who plays 90% solo, I strongly prefer some modes over others. I will say, when the 2 times I did play with friends, I did have more fun playing the different modes but most of the time they aren't on and I'm solo.

Bad luck protection will help a little bit if you play for hours I guess, but it still wouldn't allow players to play want they want to play when they want to or ensure that people can get on for an hour and play what they wanted to.

There'd still be players dropping out or not bothering to play the objective. If everyone playing CTF opted into it, the overall quality of those games would be higher.

Oh, such salt.

Guess what brah, there's like 30 fps games on the market at any given time, feel free to play any of them any time you feel like whining you have to play modes you don't want. :)

This may shock you, but 343 didn't design their playlists just to give your picky ass the middle finger, they have logistical reasons for their decisions.

What the actual **** is the point of the horizontal shot on the heatwave? It's useless, lol

Meanwhile the vertical shot is a two-shot from AR range.

Logistical reasons such as milking money from their playerbase?

You enjoy your three game modes. I'll happily go back to the Master Chief Collection where I can play what I want, when I want while the rest of you drooling idiots happily eat whatever shit 343 feeds you and act like it's the greatest thing in the northern hemisphere

It's okay. Jaegerdice and his friends are fine so it works for everyone else!
