I'm really enjoying this as somebody who's never played a Halo game before, however I've learnt my lesson of not running ranked without at least 2 of my friends in the game. The number of times watching my teammates stand there and refuse to cap a flag after we get 2 or 3 picks is absolutely insane  So many instances of teammates just playing their own version of Slayer in the objective games, so I do hope playlists are brought in down the road. The gameplay itself I'm very much liking.

I would happily take longer wait times if it meant I could choose to play what I want and not have broken lobbies.

Fair enough. Im the opposite. I definitely favor faster matchmaking times and dont mind the gametype variety at all.

Ive always enjoyed objective modes in Halo. The sandbox and TTK lends itself to modes like CTF and Strongholds (which is basically just a variant of KOTH).

Annnnd it's exactly what people feared.

If modes like fiesta, swat and other fan favorites are locked behind events that will be step one to taking my ass back to the MCC.

The other will be keeping playlists as they are

Whats exactly like everyone feared? This is exactly what they said a week ago. Their head of community or whatever said they’re taking in feedback but the team is getting the holiday weekend off. People need to chill and have some patience here. Everything is just pure speculation at this point.

The complaints in this thread are laughable. They were extremely clear on the three event dates for Tenrai when it launched. There are a few things I want for the official launch,

The progression system needs more work like actual performance and winning XP outside of challenges. New daily challenges every day. Break out Slayer and Objective Modes. I'm sure they will drop a few maps at launch, Halo was always good about that.

The Solo/Duo ranked matches have not been great for me overall. I'm either on a team with one other random against four or the other team is down a guy.

I am tired of playing shitball over and over again whenever i select quickplay.

Oddball comes up way too much in quickplay and ranked. Voting screen?

Finally finished my 10 ranked games and got put into Gold 1. Kind of expected as its my first time playing Halo. What is everyone else's rank and how does the ranking system work as far as losing/gaining rank? KD? objectives? mix of both?

In the 4 players open league, I'm Diamond 2 and started out in the middle platinum range. I would focus on your total score regardless of which game type you're in. If you win you're likely going to rank up. If you lose and you're #1 on your team you probably won't change or might go up. Halo tends to base rankings off an expected performance based on your rank. Losing and being 3rd and 4th on your team will likely move you down the ranks but I"ve noticed it's much easier to rank up than go down. The bar tells you how much progress you made that day.

It is now becoming a problem because people are quitting if they don't get the correct game mode for their challenges.

Is there something screwy with the servers?

I was playing earlier and i noticed i dumped an entire pistol clip into a guy's head with nearly drained shields and somehow didn't land a single hit and died. I also noticed a handful of times i died when i had already cleared a corner/guy's line of sight.

Reminds me of when overwatch launched with 20 tickrate servers and the game suffered immensely for it until they upgraded it shortly after

I had some lag problems over the weekend, a couple guys I was shooting at straight-up disappeared in front of me

This is way more of a problem today for me than it was before. I'm assuming because the weekly challenges expire in 18 or so hours so everyone is scrambling to finish them. I can't even blame the people quitting because this could have been so easily avoided if 343 weren't a bunch of morons and/or greedy f***s.

And because you can't play what you want, this is what you get. Awful.

Yup. I'm gonna take a break for a few days. I hope something gets changed quick

That second one doesn't even make sense.

343 can screw themselves though. The amount of excuses being made for them at this point is laughable.

This is their 4th Halo game. Halo 4 was panned for its COD ripoff style multiplayer (game was dead by christmas that year), the Master Chief Collection released in a reprehensible state and it took them about 3 years to get it to an enjoyable state, Halo 5 released in a barebones state and it took a year to be on par with other games and added a bunch of gimmicky BS no one wanted. And now Infinite, which most people can agree the core gameplay/combat loop probably since Halo 3 is being dragged down by a myriad of absolutely braindead decisions.

They should have learned from 5 but they didn't. I'm tired of "it's a beta!" garbage. i'm tired of having to wait months after launch to enjoy a Halo game. Especially when some of the more pressing stuff is shit they should have learned from with the last game.

Unfortunately the same can be said for a lot of games.

I guess Im the last gamer on Earth that still plays games for fun, and not to fill an exp bar for carrots on a stick, lol

I seriously couldnt care less about the challenges. Ive got to lvl 30-something on the gamepass just by playing. If I complete a challenge or two along the way, cool.

Call me crazy, but I'm one who actually doesn't care about the battle pass and honestly enjoys the mode rotation.

Please don't shoot me

I care a lot less about the progression but I’m just going to guess the same people that complained about this will now be done with the Battle Pass in a week and wondering what else there is to do.

Yeah, people punching screens over weekly challenges is effin' messed up. I don't necessarily care one ounce over if I get the weekly done, I am more about getting achievements. Not sure why people put so much stock in it, but maybe Destiny destroyed the average shooter with similar aspects.

I am not sure if it's just me having a bad day, but I think I noticed that the gameplay has been acting kind of funny for the past two days. Melees not registering, grenades not bouncing where I place them, and some of my shots are not necessarily hitting the players even if my reticle is over them. It's not mega lag or something like that, but a few glitches in the matrix to make me notice.
