Ylonen with 7:22 ice time...baffling to me why he doesn't have the trust of this coaching staff.

Primeau was very good. He made several highlight reel saves.
The 4th line should get equal time….they play hard on defense and they obviously can score. Plus, Ylonen should be used in the shoot out.

Caufield haven't scored at 5v5 since the 2nd game of the season. All his gwg were in OT.
Yeah, I’ve noticed that too. So what a 2nd line we now have…no one scores on 5x5.

I was kind of hoping we lose. I want the higher pick and force Habs to sell at deadline. I hate thought of hanging just outside playoff spot and staying pat at deadline.

But Habs were in game until final few minutes. Losing by a goal against defending champs. Bad game but some bright spots.

Gallagher should sit out a game. Send a message. I am going to be watching see how Marty handles this?

Caufield been quiet last few games. He's our star, needs to get going. Put him back with Suzuki or with Monahan.

Ylonen with two goals needs to play up in lineup. Give him a long look on top lines. Breakup the surgical line, it has stalled.
I am a fan of MSL................that said, his decisions on who plays together, and how much, right now, absolutely stinks.............
There are changes needed to be made, and they are obvious.

Ylonen with TWO goals, and only plays 7.22 ? And guys like Anderson get 14-15 minutes? And is on the ice at the end of the game when a goal is needed???
WTF Marty?

Someone on Reddit checked the power player stats and Anderson is crap on it of course, but the TOI of all the 1st wave makes me think they play way too much over PP2.

I remember when people were getting all giddy with Anderson in his first season with us, calling him Powerhorse and throwing flowers at the clown's feet.

I remember telling people that a horse wears blinders. Oh I got shut down back then.
The term was a legacy from Tuna, before it became clear that he was only a cemented fly-by donkey.

Now that we know what we know, we probably could have gone for some derivative like Donks McDonks.

Sure that was a big hit but that's not good if that hit was enough to potentially seriously hurt Arber.

Teams will know to start playing X harder like that if that hit ends up making him miss some time
This is what happens when you are stuck in your own end and are playing 2 minutes shifts which makes you vulnerable.

This is the direct result of simply being a bad team.

Hopefully they get it right
They’re going to go with whoever can carry the mail, while bearing the pressure of a whole country. It’s all about pleasing historians.

17:15 TOI / game
11:23 TOI / game
7:44 TOI / game

2 of these players have scored goals and have 3 points. One of these players has scored 0 goals and has 2 points.

Oh and one of these players also gets 3:51 of PP time per game with our best players...

Habs let up so many good chances last night. Vegas could have easily scored 10+ goals. Might have been the worst the defense has looked all season.
I actually thought to myself early in the game that it was like an early 00's game, getting massively outplayed, scoring a couple of lucky goals and the goalie bailing them out.

But reading that back I guess that strategy applies to all Habs success since 1985. :(

Since about 1996 when Tremblay and Foule took over

Anderson needs to figure things out soon because his ineffective play is having a ripple effect on the success of this team.

At the same time, keep it rolling.

As soon as Dach went down, the best thing for this iteration of the team was to not punch above its weight to ensure we draft in the range of the top two tiers of forwards in this draft class.
