I've been thinking for a while that Marner is such a good passer, giving him two natural goal scoreres will be perfect for his game. He doesn't need a dump and chase type of player on the other side, this set-up is perfect.

its like

mikheyev has never sucked, just been super unlucky

was always a damn good PKer and has some of the best speed in the NHL creating tons of breakaways

just he's had difficulty finding the back of the net

but he's not a star, he doesn't have those expectations... only hope. we don't expect him to be a good scorer, we just hope that he will become that.
that lebron guy barely talks but when he does he provides some doozies. soupy is a good player.

Marner at least in the beginning needs Richie to pick the garbage and make sure no one wants to get into it, he'll play like he did when Martin played.

Agree. If Ritchie can stop any nonsense, these guys will play 10 feet tall. Simmonds is well and good but he is on the bench and can't help you. Having a tough guy on ice at all times makes everyone play a bit bigger. Bunting being a rat is good too, takes some of the physical attention away from his linemates (aka hopefully two good players in JT and Nylander) and let's them focus on the game.

We need these kinds of tough players not Gabriel or Simmonds. Although I am a fan still of having 1 heavy weight ish guy on the roster in certain games.

He really really wants to be reconsidered for a top 6 job. Bunting has definitely made a case for himself too. How the lineup shakes out will be interesting. Good issues to have though. We should be able to roll 4 lines pretty well this year and play with a lot of pace

Any of them will be a nice step up from Thornton.

I have to say Nylander looks on a completely different level. He's always been very good but he looks like World Championships Willy. Incoming 80+point season.

If Willy can stay consistent and Keefe gives that 2nd line legit minutes PPG Willy is definitely not out of the question. No Matthews, but you can make the case he's been the best player in camp so far.

Seeing or not that goal probably shouldn't go through him I don't think. It didn't exactly snipe a corner.

I hear ya but at least that's a beauty screen on a goal.....I'd be more upset if there was no screen and the puck went through him like we saw last year.

I really think we need to move on from Kerfoot and get that extra cap space.
Semeyonov can take his spot at Centre

Depth is about having good players when you get injuries. We can't move all these guys because some guys might be flashes in the pan, some might get hurt, some might end up on waivers like Vesey. Suddenly you have no 4th line and a meh 3rd line.

TSN projecting a fourth line of Simmonds-Kerfoot-Spezza. And while that's a good line....Kerfoot at 3.5mil playing 4C is an ouch. Maybe a move is to be made in the coming week. Kerfoot & Dermott for a D upgrade. A guy making 5mil or less. Knock Holl down to play third pairing with Sandin....they looked decent together last night. Either way, good issues to have

I have no idea what games they are watching or me. Lilly has been so much better than Sandin in so many ways
He really has, super solid. Making smart plays on 5v5 and he's being counted on in the PK. Similar to Brodie (not saying he's Brodie). I would def take him on the 3rd pairing over Dermott. He's NHL ready.

He's gonna go off this year imo. First point per game season for him coming up

Marner and Matthews I'm not too worried about on their next contracts, neither will need much of a raise. Nylander I can see getting 9-10 on the open market as a UFA if he can be this guy consistently. Maybe more if someone thinks they can turn him into a C on top of that.
