It's easy to take offense to seemingly harmless comments around here. It's the internet, sometimes there are misunderstandings and people get upset. Doesn't mean either person is immature.
Not to mention Nona was one of the few positive people posting here during the playoffs last season. He was usually correct in what he said too. He called it like he saw it. He decided to be positive then, just like you now. Just so happens you both have a difference in opinion regarding the direction the team is going. I myself choose to be optimistic, especially if we manage to acquire a top six player.
Also, you might want to avoid jokes about sisters, girlfriends, mothers, ect. , no matter how innocent they seem. We have female posters here too, you know. ;)

Thank you. I mean I want to be positive. Its my nature to be that way. But the current roster is lacking in my honest opinion. I could be way off but I see a team working hard and playing well a good amount of the time, but they're finding ways to lose. Its an issue because they're running out of time.

Geez were there a lot of Habs fans in the house tonight. Since they also wear red I didn't realize how many til they scored. Plus the sad "bring back the Nordiques" squad...sheesh.

I actually expected a blowout. We have a hard enough time with bad teams, let alone good ones.

I agree with you completely. How many times are we gonna say ''We played a good game but'' when we lose, and can't score more than one goal? The only improvement I see from the last week is Moose, the defense, and the PK have been much better. We have 3rd liners on our 1st line, we barely got 2 lines when one guy goes down with an injury, then guys who deserve more ice time go to the 3rd, and guys who belong on the 3rd are moved up to the 1st and we wind up with 0 lines.

Nona, Vic does not take very well to people calling out Lou for the group he has assembled. I was doing it the last two weeks, and he really wasn't happy with that. I feel Lou is fair game here as well as ownership. We didn't have to re sign Salvador, and now we have 8 defensemen, and with the way this team was assembled there is absolutely no room for just one forward injury. One forward injury to this team is a devastating blow to an already thin forward corp.

Remember last year we were 15th in the league in goals scored when you take out the 12 goals we got for winning 12 shootouts. Unfortunately the only trade bait we had without making the team worse is now injured. Not that I really thought Tallinder had any value anyway.

I agree one hundred percent about the severity of a forward injury to this team. I think its no full display right now. But that's just me crying apparently.

Go devils.

Seriously, what's our record against the Habs at the Rock? It feels like Devils lose to them all the time now. It might not be as bad as I seem to think but it certainly isn't anything special.

There actually weren't as many Hab fans in the building as there've been for other weekend games, they just sounded as loud. Maybe most of them were behind the net below me cause I heard a lot of noise when they scored, but when I looked around the crowd I didn't actually see very many people standing up. It certainly wasn't the 50-50 split it was in years past.

This is not a game I'm dinging the team on at all. Unfortunately they put themselves in a position with the losing streak of death where even a 'forgiveable' loss is costly.

Anyone know/remember why the Nordiques people start cheering for 30 seconds 3 minutes into each period? I remember when they first surfaced a few years back there was a purpose for it. I clearly since forgot what it was. Until/unless someone reminds me of what it was, I'm just going to be forced to assume its for no reason whatsoever.

The ones in my section were rooting hard for the Canadiens. But I did see some walking around with Devils hats so I'm sure they're not all bad.

Why on earth would any self-respecting Nords fan cheer for the Habs? That'd be like me cheering for the Rangers if the Devils moved out.

And the horn thing they do at 17:00 because it's been seventeen years since they had a team.

How far back you want to go? We lost five out of our last six to them at the Rock. Before then Marty was pretty much dominating anywhere.

While I have faith in Pete, sometimes I feel like he's prone to overcoaching in these situations. I feel like Henrique played well enough to get on the first line over Zajac too but you never the reasons why. Maybe Deboer isn't happy with Henrique's work ethic or something, who knows?

No, Pete's just too worried about winning faceoffs. Zajac's the only center that can do so. But yeah Henrique should be playing with Kovy at this point with Lokti day-to-day for the next few weeks :P

Gotcha. When I heard it at 17 today I thought that it had previously been a different time. So I guess yeah, that explains that then.

Somebody needs to tell PD he is not Superman

I've given up even hoping PDB would ever get rational on this issue. Kovy needs to be on the shelf for two weeks again like last year for PDB to get rational about Kovy's icetime. Unfortunately we don't have two weeks to spare like we did last November.

Habs fans are just as ****ing obnoxious as Flyers fans. Holy ****.

That said, for a team that's leading the Eastern Conference the Habs do not impress me at all. Two ****ing turnovers cost the Devils the game tonight. QUIT PLAYING STUPID. Jesus ****ing christ.

It seems to go back to be even worse than that but perhaps it's just perception. I seem to remember Devils losing to them at the rock a few times 3 or 4 years back also. Anyway, I hope this team can get it together because this win one lose two thing is worrying.

Are Volchenkov's skates booby trapped or something?

He fell on that first goal worse than the mite on ice that probably was playing his first hockey game ever. Serious skating issues.

The Devils won 4 of their first 5 at the Rock against Montreal. Total record 5-6.

And on another note, funny how Zidlicky's so important to the PP yet the PP has sucked for weeks, and then scores when Harrold is on the ice. If he's going to make bonehead defensive plays like the third period tonight, he darn well better start pulling more weight offensively, besides the outlier two goal game.

He shoots the puck at least!

Too bad it's directly at the crest of the goalie or at the boards behind him.

i feel like the simple presence marty has in the room and when he is between the pipes might be a big time factor for the team in general. problem being they have definitely dug themselves into a huge hole since he has been sidelined.
