Exactly he played 5 ****ing minutes. Barch can play 10 and is a better 4th liner than Matteau.

its experience for the young guy. the more time recieved is the more experience he gets for what may be a star in the future. rather have him playing cuz he actually showed some skill then just some tough guy

The team is playing well...especially the last week and a half or so.. just can't score.

We're going to be okay... we felt the same way last year approaching the deadline and we really hit our stride going into the playoffs. Team will do the same.

2 regulation wins in 15 games:headache:

Lou has to see they are not treading water and must make a move or two, in a hurry.
Unless he deep down does not have faith in this group and is positioning the team for next season-whic is unlike him.

They are beating themselves on many nights and the big time or big name players are playing small which leads to struggles and losses.

The team can still hit their stride but not make the playoffs, though.

The team needs to stay in the Playoff hunt until Marty and then Zubie come back. Otherwise, the only "stride" they'll be doing is swinging the golf club on the course.

You guys think getting a top six forward is easy. Newsflash: it's not. Every team except a small handful believe they have a shot at making the playoffs. Market right now is eh

We need some scoring help. Whether it comes from a tough gritty guy or a speedy winger, we need it. Too many chances are not being finished; we're getting them but not capitalizing. That's what needs to change in a hurry. A proven top six guy will do wonders. Doesn't have to be a super star, it just needs to be a proven guy who can put the puck in the net. If 25 (calling him that right now because I can't spell his name, haha) or Clarkson had the presence of mind to lift the puck on their chances we might have won the game. We need a guy who can contribute in those situations. Clarkson usually comes through there but he's either hurt or in a funk.

It's easy to take offense to seemingly harmless comments around here. It's the internet, sometimes there are misunderstandings and people get upset. Doesn't mean either person is immature.
Not to mention Nona was one of the few positive people posting here during the playoffs last season. He was usually correct in what he said too. He called it like he saw it. He decided to be positive then, just like you now. Just so happens you both have a difference in opinion regarding the direction the team is going. I myself choose to be optimistic, especially if we manage to acquire a top six player.
Also, you might want to avoid jokes about sisters, girlfriends, mothers, ect. , no matter how innocent they seem. We have female posters here too, you know. ;)

Kovalchuk said he went to the locker room with the trainer during the third period because he was "thirsty" and needed a drink.

huh?

The problem with this team is the way it was built makes it devastating if one forward is injured. So we lost Zubrus, we lost Loktionov. We lost Carter, and were barely scoring then too. The only forward injury we can afford is someone like Barch. Anybody else, and this team automatically goes down like half a line or sometimes a whole line. Now defensively we can afford guys going down. People who debated with me in the Summer that 8 defensemen was a good idea for injury depth, and I said I'm more worried about losing forwards than defensemen. This is what I mean right here, you're seeing it. We have more NHL ready defensemen in Albany than forwards.

So we lose Loktionov, and it's no coincidence that we can't score more than a goal each game. He was our best player during that 6 game losing streak too. It also doesn't help when we've had 7 odd man rushes over the last two games, and have converted on 0 of them, Kovy keeps striking iron, and Zajac is put on the first line.

Just playing tough and joking to hide injury (maybe). You know him. Remember what he said about his back in play-offs?

He played so much this game, I'm not surprised. He was probably dehydrated and needed fluids taken via IV. Happens often in soccer, when a player goes for long stretches without water, Mia Hamm and Michelle Ackers (opps. sorry  ) both needed to be hooked up to IVs during intermissions and after games when they were in the prime of their careers.

Also why is Zajac on the first line? Even late in the game he was out there. What the **** has Zajac done to deserve first line ice time? What the **** did Henrique do to deserve 3rd line ice time? Had a 3 point game the other night and you put him on the 3rd line? Does Zajac have a point in the last week? This is where I blame Pete, because that's stupid. I'd rather put Patty or Rico on the 1st line centering Kovy. What did Zajac do to deserve to be on the first line? Win a faceoff? And Rico got the demotion.

Definitely missing some pieces. Poni should in no way be near the top 6. I like the guy but he's got hands of stone and is a waste on the 1st line. I'm thinking the same thing with Clarkson too. Ideally 3rd line guys but this is what we have to play with for now. Just too many holes being plugged with the usual fodder. I wish they wouldn't waste some of these games where Moose has played well. If he ***** the bed again with this team producing next to nothing they are ****ed.

I'm just about ready to give up on Zajac at this point. He's a huge piece of our team but has just been invisible. A 1st line center playing like a 3rd line shutdown specialist with that contract just looks bad. This team will go nowhere until he picks it up.

While I have faith in Pete, sometimes I feel like he's prone to overcoaching in these situations. I feel like Henrique played well enough to get on the first line over Zajac too but you never the reasons why. Maybe Deboer isn't happy with Henrique's work ethic or something, who knows?

this back and forth is good to see. you are both posters i enjoy seeing and reading on here with passionate views...... i agree with both but not to the polar extremes.

venting can be fun.

That's the funny thing...I'm not really extreme. I understand this is a bubble team. I just think it's ridiculous the constant crying from certain posters.

Poni needs to be on any line other than the 1st. I love him but he's seriously inhibiting Kovy's ability to do anything.

God, I miss Zubrus.

Get Zajac off the first line next game. Then maybe we can have 2 lines, and not 0. Henrique has to play on the 3rd line, and Zajac gets 1st line ice time? Henrique got as many points in that Flyers game as Zajac has had in his last 10 games.

Sorry I need to really vent on that, but it makes no sense to me. I'm more fed up with that than when Pete would keep going back to Moose when he was playing bad, and it's only been one game back on the 1st line for Zajac.

Nona, Vic does not take very well to people calling out Lou for the group he has assembled. I was doing it the last two weeks, and he really wasn't happy with that. I feel Lou is fair game here as well as ownership. We didn't have to re sign Salvador, and now we have 8 defensemen, and with the way this team was assembled there is absolutely no room for just one forward injury. One forward injury to this team is a devastating blow to an already thin forward corp.

Remember last year we were 15th in the league in goals scored when you take out the 12 goals we got for winning 12 shootouts. Unfortunately the only trade bait we had without making the team worse is now injured. Not that I really thought Tallinder had any value anyway.
