I was in 233 tonight and these 4 morons (Habs fans) in either 132 or 133 not sure of the section, would not sit down or shut up all game long. And of course security did nothing about them because they weren't wearing Devils jerseys

Did anyone complain to the ushers or security?

Not really sure at all, but if I was security and I saw 4 guys drunker then all **** tossing **** around the section, I would have tossed them out. But we all know Pru Center security.

Didn't watch the game but my impression is they played a good game against the conf. leader and could have won, after a totally brutal schedule? Seems OK to me. They get two days off now.

Im so disappointed in this team. First they give up a point vs Flyers for nothing and then they lose to Habs after playing better than the two of them. Learn to finish, score goals when you have the opportunity. Im tired of this **** where you lose to teams you shouldve beaten.

You can't really expect more of them. I don't like saying it, but they had 30 goals taken away from the team with Parise and replaced it with nothing. That worked as long as Clarkson was winning the lottery every game but when that stopped the problem is pretty obvious.

Aye, you are right. Its just downright infuriating. I have never been cursing after watching a game on dvr in the morning but this time i was throwing my pillows around in my room and cussing a bit too much. Its just so ****ing annoying!!!

I really believe if we had Sykora he would probably have more goals than half the team. Why Lou brought in Darche, but wouldn't sign Sykie I have no clue. I know it was different roles, but still. If we can't do anything this year then we can't. Next year we absolutely need an acquisition or two from the UFA market. I don't mean just re signing our guys. I mean re signing our guys plus signing another guy. If Clarkson goes then we need two guys. Let Zidlicky walk unless he wants to stay for a million bucks, and no more 8 defensemen ever. I'm gonna assume the Hucksterbeek's $48 million dollar contract to mad dog lite means we won't have a mess this July 1st or whenever UFA starts this Summer, like we did last year.

That also means no more league minimum Bobby Butler signings either please. Just another guy who won't make the team out of camp or who will be waived within a month of being up.

Parise or not, Clarkson, Poni, Henrique and Zajac still remain key players in our system. And without them playing like they should be, we're screwed.

Ultimately the two turnovers were the difference. Thought Pesonen looked out of his element out there. For any Habs excuse of injuries, Devils have the same problem so that's irrelevant. Trust me, Habs fans can be arrogant as ****. Most have a tendency to attach themselves to the Canadiens' glorious history and imagine somehow by osmosis that makes them superior and more knowledgeable. I got chirped about Cups on the way out by some punk who wasn't even old enough to remember their Cups. And as a Canadian I'm surrounded by them year round.

While it's true that it even itself out when both team have a few key injuries, it's also true that in such games (where both teams have lots of injuries) quality (of play) will be lowered.

Unfortunately (Habs fan here) I have to agree and huh, I dont want to sound pessimistic but...

if Quebec gets a team back, you'll have TWO fanbase in your backyard acting pretty much the same :naughty: :D

I've never been a believer in the whole tired excuse that some people try to use when teams play B2B or 3 in 4 or a bunch of games over a 1-2 week span. Nor do I buy the one "we played on the road last night and three in four while these guys were resting here waiting for us." I don't even want to hear it. Just a cop out to me, if these guys can't handle it they shouldn't be professional athletes.

The Devils RARELY won a O-zone faceoff and were losing the majority of puck battles.

We lose the trenches we lose the war boys.

Ten games in seventeen days is ridiculous though. They're human beings, not robots. Even highly trained athletes are going to have trouble with that, in the best of times never mind a compressed season with next to no camp. Yes every team's going to have a similar stretch or two in a lockout season but call me when we play a team on the back end of one, and lose.

I don't understand how anyone could watch last night and think they weren't giving effort or played well. They outshot the Habs 26-13 in the final two periods with Kovy and probably one or two other guys getting 'refreshments' in the locker room. People equate effort = not scoring, that's not neccesarily hand in hand.

I'm as down on our fans after last night as I've ever been. We make fun of Tortorella for being rude, curt and unrealistically impatient, at least half our fanbase are mini-Tortorellas, only worse and not as amusing!

The schedule is insane. I'm not going to use it as an excuse but its just not normal to play that much in a small time frame. But this is what you get with a bogus season like this.

As for the team, they are certainly working hard and trying out there. But that's what makes this team so frustrating. They deserve better. They're outplaying teams a good deal of the time but they have no room for error. Its like they have to play flawless because they just don't have the ability to finish. Say what you will about sykora and parise, these guys had some finishing touch and they were replaced with nothing. Then they lose zubrus on top of it. Oh yeah, their number one center is also nowhere to be found since his buddy left.

This should be a playoff team but they need help. Problem is they're running out of time to get it.

They work hard but they don't have the hockey IQ to be in the right place at the right time. Most of them don't try or don't have the skill to drive it to the net so they rely on point shots most of the time for scoring chances which is stupid because it's a very low percentage play.

On top of that, unless the other team has horrific defense, the Devils don't have the speed to create odd man situations which further limits their scoring capability.

If you expect them to go to the playoffs, this is the team that's going to do it, unless Kovalchuk decides to heat up.

They could definitely use today off.

And we have the cap space, I hope our owner has the cash to go out and get afford a top 6 forward this summer. There just isn't anyone from within to fill that role, unless Lou signs a college UFA.

I mentioned this COUNTLESS times and the answer I got was concerning Sykie's age. As if that is the determining factor on whether he can help with the scoring or not. If that was truly the factor, why is Jagr still playing? And before anyone tells me about "Sykora running out of gas", who cares? We need scoring help NOW and we could've used his help NOW but since for whatever reason Lou did not re-sign him, we are in this situation. :help:

The Sykora fizzing out thing shouldn't be an issues in a 48 game season

Poni-Loktionov-Kovalchuk
Zubrus-Elias-Sykora
Bernier-Henrique-Clarkson
Carter-Gionta-Kosto/Barch

with all healthy that isn't a bad lineup...

There are other teams that need scoring help yet none of them signed Sykora either. Why is that?

Yup. I'll be pretty furious if there isn't an attempt to add a top winger in some fashion.

There's no excuse not to spend some money and make a move, especially with the team selling games out consistently now, and with around 10 million or so coming off the books just next offseason when Brodeur/Hedberg are done and Tallinder's deal expires.
