Where are those hate comments? Surely some journalist would've screen capped them if it were more than a couple? Even in 2023, with journalist as bad as they are, you should have some kind of proof that it has actually happened if you're going to report that it did. I mean except for one specific outburst on tw*tter that has been posted in the OP.

Its exactly the same. The level of player is irrelevant. Fanbases like having local players on their team, this is nothing new...

I don't know, something about that hate mail thing doesn't sound right. I just don't see any of them attacking the player. There was already questions about not Michkov being political coming from Molson's way. Could the club have somehow engineered this fake scandal so fans would stop protesting?

They've been really smart in a lot of ways, but the top picks + the strange moves (Newhook?) set the rebuild back. Imagine if they had Cooley, Michkov and Tkachuk right now?

I'm willing to wait and see what type of nhler MM becomes. If he turns into a Patty Kane level superstar - inexcusable.

Right now I'm giving Hughes the benefit of the doubt that a man who has been around the game as long as he has, with the connections that he does, made a decision based strictly on who would be a better hockey player for the Montreal Canadiens.

I know it's hard to imagine Reinbacher becoming a better player than Michkov but let's see how it plays out.
