Love the second line.

Newhook-Dach-Slaf should stick hopefully

Maybe Laf-Suzuki-Caufield soon ;)
Hopefully not?

If it clicks like last year I'd expect RHP to stick on the first line for the home opener. That'd mean Monahan centering the third line with Anderson and who the f- knows

Ylonen brings nothing.
Laval it is.

Disagree.

A guy who skates like the wind. Has a wicked shot. He doesn't lay the body, but he is also an aggressive forechecker. And can produce in a limited role.

He had 16 pts in 37 games last year averaging 13:27 TOI. That's a pace of 35 pts in 82 GP.
The year before, he had 5 pts in 14 GP averaging 11:35 TOI. And that's a pace of 29 pts in 82 GP.

You give me that kind of production from a Bottom-6 forward and I'll take it.

I'll be there tonight as well. I'm guessing the reason the Senaturds are icing an AHL lineup is because they don't want their NHL players boo'd at home and hurt their feelers.

I think Laf would benefit from a fresh start. He’s a talented player. If the asking price was reasonable, I would be all over it. Nothing against RHP but he’s not a first line player on a cup contending team. Laf, if he came here and got back on track, could be that. It’s a big if of course but we have a nice development team in place. Between MSL, Adam Nicholas, and Gorton being familiar with him it might work.

Sens icing an AHL- goons filled line up. way to go DJ ! Total lack of respect for their own fans and the Habs.

1- Would the Rangers trade Laf to another Eastern Conference team ? I have some doubts.

2- If they trade him to MTL, the asking price will be ridiculous because Laf is a Quebec kid.

3- Are we ready, as Habs fans to endure another "Drouin" fiasco ?

4- Would Laf be even more f***ed up and crushed under pression in a MTL-QC environment ?

He has been thru waivers already. So they can play him when they want and retirn him to Belleville without problem.
They could be showcasing him for a trade too now that he's been through waivers. Teams can send him down for the year if they want without risk of losing him. A swap for another prospect with complete exemption or filling a different position could be desirable. I have no clue what they're doing though since they only have 10 signed forwards up and not enough room to sign Pinto. I guess if Norris is out long term they can just sign him once LTIR activates. Perhaps they're waiting for that LTIR space and intend to sign Bailey as well, since he hasn't been cut yet.

Wasn't Sokolov cut?

All the players the Sens called up were cut from the Sens camp. But they can call them back up whenever they want.

Just to note, Sens aren't the only ones to call up players they cut. I think the Leafs called up a bunch of players cut for their game tonight.

Almost a certainty that one of these will try to engage Xhekaj, likely Imama. I hope Arber drops him and points at Smith while doing the hand dusting Brashear-esque move.

Xhekaj is smart this camp, where he hasn't dropped the gloves. I understand that he might be forced to defend himself or a teammate if Sens start being idiots again like last game. But Pez is also in the line-up, so Xhekaj doesn't have to be alone in needing to drop the gloves IF the need arises.

Bailey and Tarasenko don't bring anything that Sens don't already had. They should had spend their money on Pinto instead. With a top-six of Thatchuck, Stutzle, Giroux, Norris, Batherson and Kubalik, they have enough fire power. And you add Pinto and Joseph + ??? on the third, and they would had been allright.

All these AHL level players in a final pre season game just means there are too many of these games. All the regular players are more than ready.

The Sens are this year's Canadiens, where they play 8 preseason games. But the main reason they play more is because they played in the Kraft Hockeyville games against the Leafs, where it's usually the Habs that play those games.

I much prefer this year's Habs preseason schedule.

Right. Six games is just enough. Could be 5. And have some "B" games between lesser rosters and rookies.

I do agree with some of your points, but sincerely not about the forechecking part.
What I was hoping for with Ylonen was for him to become a more productive version of Lekhonen, but his refusal of going anywhere near the dirty areas is hindering his ambitions of becoming a regular in the NHL.
At this point, he's been surpassed by guys younger than him ( Davidson, Roy, Beck , RHP ) . He's not been cut so far because of his contract, not because of his play in the preseason.
I think he clears waivers , and if by surprise a team picks him up, it's not a gigantic loss.

They just announced Norris is out indefinitely so definitely look for them to announce signings in a few days. It makes me glad they shut Cole down for the year last year. Norris only got f***ed up by rushing back and re-injuring it. It seems his career is done now.
