Will they really really make a significant assessment based on one game against an AHL, subpar lineup? More than likely, they have already had enough data by now to have decided these players’ fates.
And also, it's better to let the lines start gelling in game action, as opposed to practice - if you're trying to win games this year, that is.

I don't like this because I think RHP can really help Slaf or Anderson.

But I love it to see how this trio does together, though they may be too small.

It's mostly about trying different options. In the end, RHP might end up being with Slaf and Dach. But this is MSL's way of exploring the different options. He tried Monahan and Newhook.

Curious who will be with Dach and Slaf tonight. Maybe Newhook, maybe Anderson.

...Wait, is Imama really starting the season with the Sens?

Seeing Ylonen on the 4th line makes little sense. The writing is on the wall for #56

I know what you mean. But I don't see it that way. Even if he starts on the 4th line, if he's in the line-up, it's a positive. He will also get PP time for sure. And maybe some PK time sometimes.

Time will tell, of course.

Is this Matheson's first pre season game?

Yes.

It's good to see Matheson and Newhook back.
