now do Threads
his value as a prospect has declined and there are massive red flags with this player. Can't crack CBJ's (desperate for RHD) roster in his D+3 season and now the rumours of him being available are starting to swirl. He should be in the AHL and the fact he isn't is another red flag.i'm not saying it would be a good trade but a mid/late first, raty and kudryavtsev isn't going to get it done. columbus are going to want a comparable prospect in return
Could just be my first impression of him in blue and green was a suicide pass to Boeser. It’s not his production I don’t like, I know we didn’t sign him for that reason.Well I think for his role and pay his impact has been perfectly fine. If he was more consistent or pleasing to watch, the Canucks don't get him on the same contract. Most 3rd liners have some shortcomings and "oof" moments.
well at least get out of twitter and stop supporting that #@$%Absolutely not.
People need to stop freaking out lol
Exactly.I see some holes on this roster, but honestly, both Edmonton and Florida had holes as well. The perfect team just doesn't exist at the moment.
You are too much in a way I love.I did something exceptionally silly and looked at when the Canucks announce trades. Patrik Allvin has made 24 trades as GM of the Canucks. 15 of them were not at the deadline. Of these trades Sunday, Tuesday, Wednesday, and Thursday are the most common 3 trades each. Friday has 2 and Mondau has 1. No trades on a Saturday. 9 trades after 3pm and 6 before. 7 of the last 8 trades were announced after 3pm.
The next trade is mostly likely to come on Sunday after 3pm.

They don’t have full NTC, shouldn’t be easy to move still.
GMs are like freaking dinosaurs, if Riley Stillman can be moved with an asset coming back, Forbort is 100% moveable unless he suffers some crazy injury.
Yes the biggest problem with Jiricek is that he stinks (at least right now) and we need players that don’t stink right now. He’s only discussed because of draft pedigree.his value as a prospect has declined and there are massive red flags with this player. Can't crack CBJ's (desperate for RHD) roster in his D+3 season and now the rumours of him being available are starting to swirl. He should be in the AHL and the fact he isn't is another red flag.
I would absolutely not put Willander on the table for Jiricek.
You are too much in a way I love.
Heinen has been fine
Sherwood a home run signing
Lankinen a homerun
DeBrusk so far looks pretty meh considering his contract
Desharnais looks rough so far
Forbort tbd
Sprong basically a wash, nothing lost or gained.
I’d put Desharnais lower than Forbort.I think DeBrusk has basically performed exactly in line with his contract.
If we're giving grades to the off-season acquisitions, I'd go:
Sherwood, Lankinen: A+
Brannstrom: A
Heinen: B
DeBrusk, Sprong: C
Desharnais: C-
Forbort: D
Desharnais/Forbort were still low-risk and should be easy to move off of.
I think getting rid of Stillman and getting anything back is already a win. But yeah, the point is, GMs see things differently than we do, it’s been proven over and over. The Stillman trade is a WTF trade. Buffalo actually targeted Stillman. I recall Sabres fans saying we were wrong about Stillman after watching him play a few games. Don’t know what happened to him but he hasn’t seen NHL action since.
On the other hand, maybe Bloom isn’t an asset. Sabres fans were high on him but in reality he was the second last pick in the 3rd round signed to an ELC whose development had stalled. I liked a Bloom at the time of the trade as well but in hindsight he’s probably a guy Allvin chooses not to sign if he had a choice. Then again, it seems that management was wrong about where Bloom’s game was at given his development path.
And on Desharnais: he’s been horrible. And I know he can and may improve, and hopefully will, but this isn’t a team at the stage where we should be targeting projects that may or may not be NHL calibre, and paying them $2 million or year or whatever we are paying.
Still lots of time but as of now looks like a major pro scouting miss.
Ya, if we don’t have depth thats better than what Desharnais is currently providing, then that’s almost a bigger indictment than the actual Desharnais signing. At this point they can't afford to keep playing him. They need to figure out how to stop the leaks, and taking the leakiest player out of the lineup is the easiest fix. It's getting harder and harder to see how this player belongs in the NHL. Continuing to play him because of his salary is just sunk cost fallacy.
