Sweden already clinched first. USA (basically) clinched second - unless they lose to Denmark (very, very unlikely) & consequently Canada has clinched third.

I think Puljujärvi as a winger is at a disadvantage, all else being equal.
If Matthews projects to be a guy like Kopitar or Toews, teams are going to hard-pressed to pass up on a player like that.

The Swiss objectively played significantly better yesterday. Anyone who has watched both can plainly see that.
But nonetheless, the Americans are looking great and finishing their opportunities. I'm very impressed with them throughout the tournament, playing the way I thought Canada would.

The Swiss always play Canada tough for some reason. Plus the Swiss are out of gas. And probably the biggest reason is that at least at this point in the tournament the USA is a better team than Canada.

Same, no idea how a player who played this many years in the USA hockey system, tearing up the NCAA at pace as a freshman in almost as good of a fashion as Eichel was, and doesn't make it? But Eansor who's not even a PPG in a league that's easier to score in. Hitchcock who plays in a weaker conference than connor, not even a PPG player. And Donato who plays in same conference who isn't even a PPG player.
I know the need for defensive players and energy guys. But take 2, not 4. Bjork has been decent though. He's okay with me

Matthews is a Casanova...just bang bang bang... U.S. starting to look a bit sloppy in the end here but I expect them to pick it up in the third. They should try and get 4-5 more for insurance and confidence. I know they can do even better than this.
