Projected opponents of Suomi and presumably Sweden , in QF and Semis ( assuming Canada gets that far ), MAY actually be preferable to CZE and Russia, which would be USA's projected route to Gold Game...

Starting this year, the top 3 picks are all determined by a lottery, not just the first pick. As such, there will probably be a lot more GM's of non playoff teams, who will be a lot more are hesitant to move their first, until the order is officially known.

Ah ok, the no chance for PO teams lottery thing .. sorry I think for the right compensation of players and picks you give away a tkachuck worthy pick, so, yeah I think the new lottery rule doesn't change the pain and gain logic of a draft day deal, if it makes sense for both ..

Canada may have not been good yet but they do not have an awful team. In all fairness Canada could end up with an easier pass to the Gold Medal game if the Czech beat the Finns.
Even if Czech do beat the Finns i think the Finns are a more scary team. But all this will be decided tomorrow
