The Bert thing I don't understand. Only reasoning I could come up with is team style of play. We don't work the puck to the net quickly, like ever. I suspect Bert, and JT for that matter need pucks to the net while they have some space to operate. We circle the wagon at least twice it seems before shooting, giving opponents a chance to collapse and take away any down low space.

So even though he is the right kind of player, maybe he's not a right fit.

Agree on Domi. Fine with his effort, and I say his defensive liabilities are overblown. Lets see what else he can bring.

I am not a line guy, but I would drive something with Matthews+Nylander, JT and then Marner on a line of their own. Marner with Domi most likely, Jarnkrok with JT for defensive purposes.

The pushed the fast forward button as soon as Tavares got signed. From then on the cap has controlled this team instead of the other way around.
