Post-Game Talk: Grinding out wins like we’re constipated

The Dog House to Penthouse Boys
Skinner outduels the expensive guy. Arvidsson scores and a GWG at that. Nugent Hopkins with three apples. And Captain McJesus finds his miracle shot.

This was an ugly, muddy track game. Really liked Walman's defending game with 6 blocks, solid blue paint defending and actual weak side positional support for the goaltender. Squint and some bright signs include perfect PK, cutting down on goals against, and grinding through their lost, once dynamic offensive game. Big win. Need to stack some W's. Get guys healthy.
I love when the guys getting shit on have big games haha

Any of the usuals here complaining about Oilers turnovers should look at the Rangers baking dozens of hot turnovers every period. What a hopeless club. Rangers are the least disciplined team with the puck. We got a lot of looks tonight.

Rangers are crazy bad. Looked like guys getting golf clubs out. I thought they were trying to feed our goals.

tbf, both teams were playing 3 in 4 nights and it showed after 2 periods. It was ugly hockey. lol.

It was a strange 3 pt night. One assist hits his skate, another hits his ass and I can't remember the other one. When Nuge has these multiple pt nights its often been innocuous. just touching the puck.

Rangers fans should be booing their own club though, not Draisaitl. Where'd that come from?

Didn't have to do anything until the third and almost gave up a few because of his terrible rebound control. But, he made the saves. The problem is he will have a good game then have 10 bad ones.
It is very unnerving to see pucks around his feet or when he's down and he has absolutely no awareness of where the puck is. Got away with it tonight, but I'll give props for coming through, but always an adventure.

Skinner had a good game. A rarity. Of course his glee club is acting like it’s a common occurrence
I knew we'd see the groundhogs pop out tonight. Just like the telecast. I feel like the whole broadcast is tellng us about the saves Stu Skins got tonight. Rangers weren't mounting much though and got a couple goal posts and a lot of shots wide. Take the rare over .900 game.

Yeah, lol. It's wild - we lead the NHL in shots and have all year.

Because we launch low % point shots at will, but defer on a ton of looks on odd man rushes and the power play especially. Simply leading the league in shots isnt an indicator that we’re playing the right way, and we should know that on this board after ripping volume shooting teams for years.

It isn’t hard to identify when a shot should have been taken, but wasn’t, and it happens a lot here. Often resulting in a turnover anyways.

Cannot believe the lack of talent, watching us absolutely butcher a bunch of 2 on 1's.
Did we have that many 2 on 1s? I just remember the one that Podkolzin ripped wide. Getting odd man rushes seems to be a struggle for this team, we give up way more than we get. I don't know how we let Rempe cut between our defence for the game's only breakaway.

Yup. It’s too bad they have to get to the point that supporters are frustrated with their constant lack of production when they finally have one good game. Real pros get motivation from within and don’t let it get to that point.

Oh, but I do love it too. We share that in common.

I just add
“its about time”.

Bouchard did the normal thing where he fired one right at him, then didn’t recognize that exerting effort was required to get back until it was too late.

The Rangers turnovers are not our concern, who cares. They have a good chance of missing the playoffs. We need to clean our own game up, that's my concern and focus. Hopefully tonight is a start.

JT Miller gonna be yelling at team mates again pretty quick. He was about the only name Ranger that even showed up in the game. Everybody else getting the golf clubs out.

Funny though. Miller fedup of playing for the cough loser canucks, now he's playing with the Rangers the team with the worst work habits in hockey.

I'd deck Panarin just for giggles. Holy f*** was Panarin bad. That one PP where he's throwing the puck away 3X on one shift.

Panarin: "what do I gotta do to get benched" Imagine this absolute turd being your marquee player. I couldn't imagine that from a fan or player standpoint.

Trust me any club built around breadman won't rise.

“Oilers atrocious puck management doesn’t matter because look, this bad non playoff team does it too!” Is certainly an interesting angle.
