^^^^ Interesting shot, collection of players 2 up.... LW Len Ronson there, long time minor-pro, only played 5 games for the Seals.... earlier, circa 1960/61 about a dozen with the Rangers.... odd looking lid, helmet he's wearing.

.... and there we go.... Olde Mutton Chops.... The Bruce. :thumbu: ... story behind those sideburns.

My first skates. -- Actually, mine were red, white and blue. These are sharper.

Orr-skates-2.jpg

.... I remember seeing those advertised (who could forget!) when they came out (and on ebay today, vintage & collectible equipment)... and I defy you or anyone to actually find a photograph of Orr using them in-game while with Boston..... Bobby Hull as well as others had skate endorsements & I do recall them actually using, wearing the product. Orr on the other hand.... Ive seen him using Bauer Supremes but he favored the most widely used, C.C.M. Tacks... which were eventually surpassed by Bauer when they introduced the "Tuuk Chassis" system, replacing the "tube" as featured above. Not sure who made "Rallys'".... C.C.M. or Bauer, Daoust?....

Photographed on George Street in Stratford Ontario Canada in 1925. This 1902 Oldsmobile was a part of an organized new car showing for a local car dealer "Roy Brothers Garage" at 108 Downie Street. Seated in the Oldsmobile on our left is the 1st NHL Hockey Superstar Howard "Howie" Morenz who played for the Montreal Canadiens from 1924 till 1937. Morenz 1902-1937 started his hockey career in Stratford before joining the Montreal NHL team. Seated with Howie is life time friend Walter "Butch" Kelterburn 1901-1971 who also enjoyed a long professional hockey career with roots to Stratford's hockey team. The new car showing parked under the canopy is a 1925 Chrysler Four Door.

Howie grew up in nearby Mitchell, Ontario.
The "Mitchell Meteor" and the "Stratford Streak", his two nicknames.
Great photo!

Aha! Thx c58. I was beginning to think it was just some random late 19th early 20th century photo that tinyzombies fancied..... no hockey connection whatsoever.... pretty cool Steampunk lookin jalopy... and y'know?.... I'd be ok with that too every now & again.... Harold Ballard flipping his sea flea.... some photo's of elephants waterskiing.... being pulled along single handedly by Eddie Shore.... in a canoe... that sort of thing....
