The Berggren - Kasper - Mazur line emerging late in the season is awesome on so many levels.

Kasper the gritty, two way Center. Mazur the hustle/forecheck/glue guy with excellent finishing abilities around the net. Berggren the creative offensive player and playmaker.

Great makeup for a line. Hopefully we see them together on the big club one day.

Yup that's the best part - doesn't take much imagination to see that line in Detroit (biggest question is probably whether they keep Berggren)

So for someone who's an idiot, does a move like this require consent from the player as well? Or is there an agreement between leagues for this kind of thing.

I don't get Twitter at work, but assuming you're talking about McIsaac, it appears to be a player option based on whatever is in his contract. Since he's not on his ELC, he cannot be assigned to Toledo without consent:

ECHL.PNG

and Europe appears to be a player option:

europe NHL.PNG

which kinda makes sense since there's a lot of Euros in the league now. Even though Jared isn't European, it still seems more appealing than Toledo, lol. Aside from being an ECHL team, the last time I checked, the city is in Ohio.

I don't. Gimme Hedman and an Osgood quality guy all day every day. Over a Roy/Brodeur and what... is comparable here... borderline HOFer... um... Schneider? Seabrook?

If you control the ice, you don't need a superstar goalie. See Red Wings, Detroit.

A world class defenseman is more impactful than a world class goalie. I think a lot of people get confused because a bad goalie is far more impactful than a bad defenseman. Steady and good enough is fine in a goalie. If you want to control the game, you take the defenseman.

Take Hasek off of Buffalo and give them Hedman. They never sniff the division final, let along the Stanley Cup. Maker? Heck Lidstrom. How many Cups to Bourque win? You use Ozzie. He was surrounded by a world class TEAM. We are talking about ONE player. Edmonton has the best player in the League and another who is top 5-7. They haven;t won a thing. Finally, the best D man plays less than half the game. The best goalie, or the marignal goalie plays the whole darn thing. :)

And what did Hasek win alone? Nothing.

Skaters > goalies all day every day. If you're a good team the puck is in the other end over half the game...

That line combined for 17 shots tonight

And take a look at the shot chart... TheAHL.com | The American Hockey League

Has to be mutual. No way they could force a guy into a whole new country across the ocean.

I will take who cares for $500, Alex.

It is still interesting as you don't see NA guys reassigned to a Euro team very often.
