Just picked up clubs this summer after 10 years off. would any of you guys recommend Golf Tec or instructors? I got lessons from the pro at Shooters, great guy but wasn't impressed with his time management.
For me, seeing my swing on video was an eye opener on what I needed to change. The lessons are fully recorded and can be watched on the "clubhouse" app which is awesome.

I did the swing evaluation and was able to identify the issues with my swing. We corrected 2 issues on the first day. I ended up buying 10 lessons and plan on starting them in the Winter. My Wife wasn't too pleased lol.

Ok its like I don’t even recognize opptomistic guy you quoted (which was me). I love Golftec but boy is golf a journey . I played way more games this season (probably over 15 times so far) but didn’t have a range pass like last season so that part was a set back. My kids game totally went in the tank the last 3 weeks to the point he doesn’t really want to golf and that is sad. I think I’ll get a membership next season at a club with a nice practice facility (Southwood which is 5 minutes from work or Niakwa which is 5 minutes from home) and try to get regular games (maybe mens night and a once a week morning game). Msoftly, I need to add structured practice.

I had a revaluation a few weeks back. I went back to Saskatchewan to join 4 old buddies for two days of golf and shit load of laughs. I grew up with this crew at Waskasui and we raised hell together. Out of the 5 of us I haven’t really golfed much over the last 15 years (since I started a family) but three of those buddies are retired and they golf all the time now. I was shocked at how solid all their games are. When we were in our 30’s I was probably the best or second best golfer of that pack and I can’t touch them now. That crew were all altletic but the main thing is they all make WAY less mistakes striking the ball than me. They all kind of live in the 80-85 range which is solid golf for old f***s who didn’t golf much for 20 years. Watching them play it looked pretty fun. The one day I kind of hung in (ish) and it was so great. The next day I blew up which was funNY. Mostly I had glimpse into the future and realized when I don’t work anymore I might want to golf 50 times a year for health like they do. Pretty cool social actively.

Golftec is good. Its important to see your swing on video IMO.

Just got in.
Heat stroke on top of dizziness that’s my excuse.
Probably should have stayed home.

Take care of yourself My chattering friend...

Going to try Victory today in the 40° desert heat. (Phoenix)

Warmed up with 9 yesterday afternoon but there was some cloud cover and wind to keep the heat bearable.

Up to 44° on Tuesday for Quintero!

As the antithesis of Mr. Eyeseeing I had my worst game ever at St. B yesterday. I can't tell you what the score was put let's just say that is was very high, and the front 9 was already over par for the course.

I hit some shots early in the day, but the bunkers ate me alive, hard bunkers near the greens, soft ones in the fairway. I managed to miss every single fairway with a nasty persistent tailing slice, that had me play the back nine out of the trees. I managed to putt at least 130 yards on a couple of occasions, and had the old guy golfing with me laughing in stitches, when I tried to rifle one through the trees only to have it come back at me and with some hockey skills knock it out of mid air at high velocity back into the fairway. Followed that hole up with a solid par, with a beauty tee shot on 12. But jeez, the season's almost over and I am more convinced than ever that golf is not my sport.

I’m kind of on the fence about practicing.
This year I’ve played two games after a three year absence.
Before the first one with @Eyeseeing, @buggs and @John Agar I decided that I should probably visit the driving range the day before.
Much to my surprise I was hitting the ball really solid - both long and straight.
The next day on the course I could barely hit a fairway.
Then the next week with my brother in law I decided to spend half an hour before tee off practicing my putting. First putt I drained from 40 feet. Then another one from 30 feet. For about twenty minutes, my putting was more zoned in than at any other time in my life. I was so excited to get out there on the course and start draining putts left, right and center.
You can probably guess what happened next.

Thanks
My wife was along side so I have an honest witness.
I hit everything straight and it my irons were spot on.
Very enjoyable today.

I feel slowly but surely I am starting to imagine my Charles Barkley “Illusion Diet” foursome shapping up. My golF’ing soul sisters.

For about two months i couldn't stop topping the ball. Finally after several range sessions I am not hitting it clean most times. I'm still terrible but it's a relief to finally feel solid contact. Need to work on my aim now. Hit straight but usually off target by quite a bit.

I think next year I’m gonna pick up the one length irons by Cobra. I was making great contact in the beginning of the season, now I’m just hitting it fat.
Golf is an frustrating sport, and i feel like the high of shooting a low score is akin to a meth user chasing the first time they tried the drug. Lol

Ever notice how your first and last holes are generally your best? Build up the optimism to begin and then after a solid filling in with a sh*tburger consisting of as many as 16 holes you play a good hole to end just to bring you back again thinking "maybe..."?

Played Hecla twice this weekend. What a gong show. Saturday we had a group of young, athletic kids (two couples dressed in truly hip, stylish golf gear) that wouldn't let anyone play through. Six hours and five minutes for the round. No marshal on the course (and no beer cart, though we knew that ahead of time). Friday's round was better but I think I'm coming around to the notion that too much alcohol (blasphemous, I know) can impair your golf game.

or have a brutal outing next time out...
Niakawa on Friday ...fingers crossed that doesn't happen

Wow. Nicely done @Eyeseeing. I swear that golf was invented by the same guy who invented the roller coaster!
Word Mud'...

I was first in the Men's League in points up until last week...

I had been scoring over the 9 holes between 40 and 44 for weeks on end after the initial games this year that both were in the 50's...

I go to face the top senior golfer at our club... practice 3 days in row going into the round with excellent contact and distance control...

Then proceed to have a diabetic low 3 holes in... which tanked my score... couldn't even feel my body position so f'd up...

Proceeded to score no points in My contest... further to the insult, the league "officials" don't adjust my handicap to what I scored as they feel it would be unfair to my final 3 opponents this year...

If there was ever a more merciless game I not sure what that would be...

Perhaps bring back Ullamalitztli... at least if you sucked in your game... you never had to be tortured by the sport again...

PS.... as a positive I am only 1 point out of first still... Just need to play my best no matter what and we'll see what happens...
