Too funny, i actually saw Scheifele yesterday, he was walking right in front of our cart as we waited to get going. I said hey Mark how's it going? He stopped and said good, i asked if he was playing in the tournament and he said no he just finished a practice round for the Manitoba Open. I said cool how did you play? He said ok . I then said lets make the playoffs this season eh , he said ya absolutely. Then he went and had a long sit down interview with Sarah O . Wonder when we see that interview?

How did you play?

Went to St B at 7:30 this morning with the son but forgot my f***ing scuba gear at home. Shotgun start we made it 6 holes before my kid bailed (injured back allegedly) . We lost his ball in the water that was inside a sand trap lol. I am a weird golfer. I pumped the ball into the trees on five of the six holes off the tee because I can’t drive but I actually didn’t lose a ball and just chipped out of the trees and kept going. I also got up and down on four of the six holes from around 50 to 80 yards . Sunk back to back puts over 15 feet, then an 8 footer, and a four footer. The fairways were pretty unplayable as far as water goes. I was making it look really ugly as far as ball striking.

Should have just avoided the course today, it was a rookie mistake teeing off in water saturated conditions.

Had our Club Championship this weekend. Was hoping to compete for the title but after playing the first 12 holes even par I made two doubles and a bogey coming home for a 77. Leader was at 70 so basically had no chance.

Shot a solid 74 the second day, to finish T6 out of 30 or so guys. An improvement from last year and I hit the ball really damn well but I didn't make a putt outside 8 feet over two days.

Sad that golf season is coming to an end, feels like it barely started.
Because of the weather in the Midwest parts of both the US and Canada, it didn't really start until May or June, did it?

I think the course opened May 11th but all the rain during May I probably played like twice, so yeah pretty much didn't start until June.

Crazy, I need to live somewhere warmer man.
Imagine being a member somewhere and your yearly membership was for a actual year and not 5 months ? I wouldn't have to feel like i have to play everyday to get my moneys worth.

Brother in law is in town from out of province, where is a decent course to take him to? Seems most are pretty wet today so might go during the week.

The Southwest courses from Winnipeg are your best bet...

Carman is great... Morden... for sure...

A good little 9 hole course not too far from both, Roland is a good choice...

Winnipeg and East and north of the city, most don't have the drainage...

I would phone around the Interlake... specifically what was South Interlake at Warren... they have improved the drainage a lot and the new ownership have worked their asses off to improve the course, clubhouse etc...

Grand Pines was in very good shape today. They seem to have received much of the rain we did locally and 90 degree rule was in effect, but late afternoon it wasn't soggy at all. But they are kind of on a beach in a sense (glacial lake Agassiz) so they probably dry out a lot faster).

@John Agar Isn't Roland the course where a guy got angry after his drive, smacked the yardage sign with his driver and it snapped, coming back around to impale him in the throat?

Miami has a nice little 9 hole track in the same region as well.

Betting Bel Acres is fine too - the crop didn't seem lodged from the rain like it was further south so it might be in good shape too.

If you don't mind a bit of a drive Granite Hills is a beauty. Pinawa also nice.
My buddy works in the Pro shop at Pinawa
He said it was closed Thursday and Friday and that he was hopeful for the weekend.
Mars did not get the same rainfalls so they remained open.
I’m heading out to Mars tomorrow, I’ve been dealing with vertigo all month but it’s improving slowly so we’ll see how it goes.
I golfed last week with the HF folk and I had a rough couple of days afterwards.
Gotta get out as the season is so short.

So the HF crew induced the vertigo in you……might have slipped something in your beer…..were you playing for money? :sarcasm:

I'm still alive... I would never swing a club in anger...

Yes it's true... I believe it was Roland...

Wasn't me...

I know a golfer or two that swear after most swings... :sarcasm:

50/50 at the Manitoba Open

Just don't bother.

Just got in.
Heat stroke on top of dizziness that’s my excuse.
Probably should have stayed home.

That’s doesn’t sound very good. We golfed 9 at Beauty Bay yesterday and I was so cooked after, just too warm.

I hear ya! Played Steinbach fly in today and it was HOT! Also played behind the slowest foursome in history.
Hoping your vertigo gets better soon.

for my journey I think the first stage at Golftec with their amazing equipment, technology, and instruction was to get the mechanics rebuilt. I am 10 lessons deep and feel we are well underway on that part. I am absolutely at the point now where contact and feel have entered into the plan and everyone of my practice sessions is going to integrate that part. Hitting targets and flight path will take a higher priority now that I can begin to trust my mechanics.

Having my last practice session being 95% target centric was a revaluation.

Next step is blending Golftec with the driving range. I think that will be May’s goal. Possibly 3x a week at the range for about an hour each session.

I just need to figure out how to structure my range sessions and not just hit balls.
I did the swing evaluation and was able to identify the issues with my swing. We corrected 2 issues on the first day. I ended up buying 10 lessons and plan on starting them in the Winter. My Wife wasn't too pleased lol.

If you work the lessons with regular outdoor range practices which are structured properly… it’s worth it

Worth every penny for me.

When you figure some things out and can rely on yourself - makes the game more enjoyable and less chance of injury.

Golf is still hard though…

Just picked up clubs this summer after 10 years off. would any of you guys recommend Golf Tec or instructors? I got lessons from the pro at Shooters, great guy but wasn't impressed with his time management.
