Went out for 18 today at St B with the son. I played a little better so that was more fun. The weather ended up being beautiful for
Golf.

The only challenge is St B’s greens can be tricky to hit and hold. I had some nice shots that ended up rolling off the back. You really need to know the greens I think. Very nice to put on though. Some of the bunkers are a bit hard pan and that’s tough.

Back 9 is more attractive. I’m still really erratic but at least I am hitting some nice shots. Mostly it’s just great playing with my 13 year old.

Oh ya the front 9 and back 9 are completely different, the back 9 is very nice. The inconsistent bunkers drive me crazy, some are fluffy and some are rock hard. My sand game is just as inconsistent though.:laugh:

I would say the only part of my golf game that I would consider good and fairly consistant for my level of play is my sand game and St B is changing that. It also doesn’t help that when I changed out my clubs I forgot my sand wedge in the garage. I finally put it in my bag now. Yea its the consistancy of the traps that is killing me. Course is in pretty good shape although it was soaked and retaining water yesterday after the brutal rain Tuesday.

Ya it doesn't drain well on the front 9, hopefully its dryer today. The bunkers are making me skittish in them now because of their inconsistency, at least that's what I'm telling myself to cope with my shity sand play this year.:laugh:

Crazy day at Beauty Bay. Got out at 10:30 with Thunder Showers in the forecast for 12:00 dammed if the heavy shower didn’t hit at about 11:45 when we had just finished our 7th hole. I pulled the cart under the trees and took a phone call and the rain let up so we decided to finish out 9. Low and behold the weather held and we were the only two golfers I saw on the back 9 and we got in 17 holes (in just over 3 hours) before the real kick as storm hit. Picked up 48 Kirkland golf balls from Costco and left some behind for the locals.

It was so much fun having the course to ourselves just me and the 13 year old son. Wide open golfing getting to reload shots if we wanted to.

makin memories.

Golfed with @buggs Sunday
Not sure if @John Agar or Buggs had the stiffer flex :sarcasm:

Another 18 today at Beauty Bay. Golfing way more this season than any other in the past decade. I think that is my 6th time on the course. Still struggling a bit off the tee but was even par on the front 9 today (easy course). Back 9 not so much.

4 up and downs on the front 9 from off the green was the key. 50 yards in I was really tidy today.

Weird f***ing sport……game……whatever.

Haven't golfed in 25 years. Went out with my brother and my niece's husband to Shadow Ridge beside the airport in Kelowna. 1/3 the price of the one by my house. One advantage of being so bad is I ended up with more balls than I started with!

Playing in a tournament at Southwood this Monday, pretty unbelievable tournament, free shoes, lunch and a dinner. The proceeds are going to the True North foundation, if Scheifele is playing I'll ask him what the hell is going on with him and the Jets on behalf of HF Jets.:laugh:

Golfed with
@Mud Turtle
@buggs
@John Agar today
We all played in the low 80’s :sarcasm:
My score was 107
Great fun
It was great to finally meet some of my fellow HF posters. Beautiful morning for golf and lots of very interesting conversation with three very intelligent guys. As far as golf goes, I’ll just say that I’m glad that I loaded up on balls before the round! :)

I golfed St. B yesterday, and just like @Eyeseeing says the years of practice have just taken my youth. Might have been the most dangerous golfer on the course, going from fairway to fairway, but not the right ones. Spent a good chunk of my time in the trees as well, with the low lying oaks of St. B showing off my ability to putt over 100 yards out of the rough. I finished by having to play a wedge over the patio from the fringe of the putting green. Two shots actually went backwards. The kid we golfed with shot a 73, so it was a tale of two cities. My scorecard had some question marks. I made two pars, on a couple of nice iron shots, which is what keeps me coming back, that and the beers.

It’s a fun time.
All it takes is a few bad holes to tank the card however a well struck iron, or long putt can erase the bad memories and if you are out with chill people that’s all that matters

Ok I was dying laughing…… not ”at you” but “with out”. It sounds so much like my crazy adventure this season. The fairway is very safe when I am on the course. The trees need to be on their toes or stumps or whatever. My game is such a fictional work by about hole 3 that I don’t bother with the score card. I have a rough idea of how many pars and or birdie’s I get in a round but I can’t keep track of the triples. Had a nice day on day 1 of my golf trip to saskatchewan, then on day two I hit 7 drives OB on the back 9. Didn’t bother to reload on the tee after pumping it the bush just did a lateral drop and kept the round moving.

Too funny, i actually saw Scheifele yesterday, he was walking right in front of our cart as we waited to get going. I said hey Mark how's it going? He stopped and said good, i asked if he was playing in the tournament and he said no he just finished a practice round for the Manitoba Open. I said cool how did you play? He said ok . I then said lets make the playoffs this season eh , he said ya absolutely.:laugh: Then he went and had a long sit down interview with Sarah O . Wonder when we see that interview?

Had our Club Championship this weekend. Was hoping to compete for the title but after playing the first 12 holes even par I made two doubles and a bogey coming home for a 77. Leader was at 70 so basically had no chance.

Shot a solid 74 the second day, to finish T6 out of 30 or so guys. An improvement from last year and I hit the ball really damn well but I didn't make a putt outside 8 feet over two days.

Sad that golf season is coming to an end, feels like it barely started.
