Ya no driving range sucks, we have a practice area that you can hit wedges but that's it. The course is in pretty good shape but the rough is US Open long right now because of not being able to cut it from wetness. They will probably be cutting it today. Greens are in good shape and fairly quick. Have fun and let me know what you think. :thumbu:
Rough was still pretty damn long! Course was in good shape, the greens are remarkably firm for how much rain we have got. Was struggling to hold the greens with anything other than wedges from the fairway.

Played decently well, 76. Back 9 is definitely the tougher of the 2 nines. Shorter course but penalizing if you are not in the fairway, didn't hit a whole lot of drivers.

The food after was really good too!

76 is great, back 9 is definitely the harder of the 2 nines , ya the rough is really long, i'm hoping they cut it soon. And the food is usually quite good i agree.

Mosquitoes were absolutely horrible at Mars Sands today
Almost quit 12 holes in, did not enjoy at all

They took longer to come out than I expected, that's for sure. But then I didn't predict the below average temperatures that went on for weeks prior to this week.

You guys ever go to crescent wood or harbour view solo? I'm just starting out and wouldn't mind doing a quick short course but don't know if it's mostly families that go.
I find Harbour View has more kids on the course, but small sample size bias may be at play...

Got my 13 year old son a junior membership at St B …….FOUR @Jets 31

Very cool yesterday I dropped him off and he met a buddy from school and they did 18 and loved it. It was only a year ago I introduced him to the sport and I can’t tell you the joy it gives me to see him golfing with buddies. Also took my 10 year old daughter to the range and she really liked it so I think I will do a few more range visits then golf a few times with her at Cresent Drive.

I have yet to golf my first round but I have been hitting golftec up a fair amount and got to the range once. I think the rounds will get going soon. Yesterday was a great day for golf Hope the folks on here got out.

They are really getting bad, had to use bug spray for the first time in 3 years . Horrible long cold winter with a tonne of snow, followed by a spring with only rain and now the nice weather comes finally and you get eaten alive by gaters . I would imagine the country courses will be even worse .

The Whiteshell area is specifically bad for mosquitos...

My son in law who was doing work out at West Hawk Lake fixing docks said last week was the first time ever in his life he wore a mosquito net over a wide brimmed hat.... that's saying something...

He grew up and worked most of his life in the Whiteshell area...

.... Not mosquitos... but pro golfers can be amazing...

Mosquitoes could become very bad this year, with the tons of rainfall we've had, making a lot of breeding pools for them. Best bullet proof repellent is that Watkins stuff, it's like a thick white cream, and it also smells good. Works like magic. I think you can get it at Canadian Tire now as well. Best stuff I've ever used, and you wouldn't know it if there was any mosquitoes out there at all.

Golf is a crazy "sport"...

The previous 3 rounds at our Men's League out at Carman I shot 52, 51, 48...

Today... shot a 42... with a 9 on a Par 5...

I made some totally spastic shots on many holes, then drilled shots after that almost every time...

Other than the one hole with the 9... total loss of control... surprised I didn't shit My pants on that one...

I think frontal lobotomies are necessary to play this crazy F'n game...

Went to crescent yesterday, son had a great time. Loved driving the cart and hitting driver. Hard to teach the iron. It is pretty flat and grass is quite short he would just put from 20 yards out. Driving the cart is pointless but i knew he'd like it

Whatever keeps them engaged really. Its a very fun little part 3 course and is great for what it is.

Yes you aren’t suppose to be there, but historically I don’t tend to spend enough time on fairways.

Picked up the iron set, driver, fairways and rescue. It’s pretty.

Just played Crestview for the first time in 15+ years. Shot meh, but was happy to be playing. Playing Elmhurst on Tuesday.
Got the driver and Irons. Stoked to give them a try.

Still trying to figure out why the grass is shorter in the middle. Like why bother cutting it that short anyway, I'm never there.

I just need them to add allot of trees in the middle of the current fairways and cut nice wide alleys on either side where the trees and rough are currently and I will be a pretty low handicap. Very little danger of me hitting them in the new rough up the middle.
