Just because of how it went down the last time to team USA. I mean... that "Is this the best Team Canada all time?" thread is actually warranted and if they don't win we're gonna be getting the ripest memes since my boys won 62 games and laid a deuce vs the Blue Jackets. But touche amigo. Good luck to both teams!
It's a game... LOL. Bring it

USA-Canada is a friendly rivalry. I’m sure they’ll be some hard feelings over the result, but Americans and Canadians get along in the NHL. Shared culture. They all probably know each other. If there are any issues, the Swede can play peacemaker.

You wouldn't see this with all hockey nations immediately after the game.

Yeah, Chelios isn't impressed but he still took the picture.

I can agree with this sentiment. Generally speaking I find Americans take a loss to Canada the best in international tournaments. I dunno if you guys can say the same for us

I find Canada a bit better than USA this year and the fact that Canada has home team advantage and with that got to choose the earlier semifinal matters here. That rest time matters a lot. So I predict an easy win for Canada. 5-1. If there was no rest advantage it would be a closer game but still a win for Canada. I just don't understand why the tournament organizers let the players have a day off between quaterfinals and semifinals but not a day off between semifinals and the medal games.

Hot take: I wonder if the Americans can rig the scoreboard tonight in order to win the game :naughty:

Ive been to Vancouver for 3 games 2 times the kings were blown out and i was like a novelty. People found out im from LA and im a *real* hockey fan, They bought me drinks and it was a fun night. The last time we won I was pushed and threatened. Still would go back love the city.

Better than the format in years past, where the top team got a bye from the semi's and went straight to the gold medal game. lol!

The two best finals I can remember were in 2010 and 2017 and both of them had terrible results hopefully this time we get a better result.

Canadian depth is too much for the Americans. Canada’s fourth line would be the second line on the States.

Factor in how heavily the Canadian defense outclasses the Americans and it should be throttling for Canada.

At least, in theory ....

They didn't ruin the chance at Gold, because it actually happened.

Meanwhile, the 1981 Canada Cup team had Wayne Gretzky, Mike Bossy, Guy Lafleur, Bryan Trottier, Denis Potvin, Ray Bourque, Larry Robinson, Rick Middleton, Bob Gainey, Marcel Dionne, among others, and lost 8-1 in the final.

If you had asked me if that team would lose 8-1 against anyone, how do you think I would respond?

I don't indulge in what-if scenarios because anything can happen on the ice.

It's the small details that make the difference. I was at that game and it was a low point in my hockey watching career. Great lineup but..............Ron Duguay? Mike Liut in net? And Tretiak standing on his head. I know that the shots on goal were pretty even but I remember Tretiak taking the wind out of Canada's sails in the first period. We never recovered.

Deja vu in Hamilton when the Russians scored the first 3 in the 1st period. Happily a better end result for Canada in that game.
