Wow... I never knew that. I've never seen a privately owned arena in Canada other than the NHL arenas and in most cases the city owns those too. Every community arena I've ever been inside has been city owned and subsidized....

Seriously? I've seen plenty of privately-owned arenas in Canada (Quebec and Ontario)
Public are very (or more) common mind you

Big reason why any players on the U.S teams not from the Midwest/Northeast are noted for their birthplace and youth teams. Nontraditional markets need a massive investment in rinks just to lower the cost of youth hockey.

Can someone PM and a stream for tn it’s for my buddy he’s got 14 day quarantine for the military out in Manitoba and couldn’t find a stream last night

Because hockey isn't played on paper.

Maybe the team defers too much to Dach, the guy with NHL playoff experience. Or maybe Lafreniere tries to do too much on his own.

I don't know, but I don't assume.

This team as it is currently constructed is doing a tremendous job. That much I am sure of. Hopefully they can close it out.

Exactly. You don't. Why did Canada had Crosby and Bergeron back then ?.... Did they ruin the chance of Canada to win a Gold ?

They didn't ruin the chance at Gold, because it actually happened.

Meanwhile, the 1981 Canada Cup team had Wayne Gretzky, Mike Bossy, Guy Lafleur, Bryan Trottier, Denis Potvin, Ray Bourque, Larry Robinson, Rick Middleton, Bob Gainey, Marcel Dionne, among others, and lost 8-1 in the final.

If you had asked me if that team would lose 8-1 against anyone, how do you think I would respond?

I don't indulge in what-if scenarios because anything can happen on the ice.

In hindsight, Group A was stronger than they were given credit for prior to the tournament - Finland has been terrific while Sweden embarrassed themselves.

There is no way to avoid having 3 strong teams in one Group - while the other only has 2. We need MORE strong teams.
I miss the days when the Czechs were legitimate gold medal contenders

Why should this year be any different? All hands on deck. lol!

Just because of how it went down the last time to team USA. I mean... that "Is this the best Team Canada all time?" thread is actually warranted and if they don't win we're gonna be getting the ripest memes since my boys won 62 games and laid a deuce vs the Blue Jackets. But touche amigo. Good luck to both teams!
