Yes that would be terrible, though I have confidence that at least he won't pull a Fleury. The feeling is more regarding how the 2004 team was being viewed as nearly unbeatable and an all timer, until it lost a close game to an American team that had enjoyed a tournament almost as strong up to that point.
I knew what you meant - that triggered the same gut feeling with me.

I remember before the GMG in 2004, TSN did a spot on the Canadian team being GREAT. The last part of the clip had Fluery walking around the outside of the ice. Ouch!

Yep and that's the thing. Threads about whether this team is the best Canadian team ever and all that, and then if the team loses to an American team that it looks better than, but not drastically so, then suddenly it's forgotten.

All geared to the Eastern Seaboard in the U.S. and Canada...

Advertising money... that's what it's all about...

7:30 eastern not so bad a start time...

8:30 Me in Winnipeg... I warned My wife I would be up late one more night (she loses sleep/light sleeper so I wake her up)

9:30 Alberta... beginning of suckage...

10:30 in B.C. ... it will keep them from rioting too vigorously ... :sarcasm:
I haven't watched The Irishman yet.

At 9:30, I will put on my headphone and watch The Irishman. After the movie is over, I will nervously pull up TSN and pray for the best. The length of The Irishman is perfect - should cover 3 periods and any possible O.T.

If Canada won, I will go on TSN and watch the game late into the night.

If the U.S. won, I will roll over and TRY to sleep.

There is one thing I know for certain. And that is the Canadian players won't forget their roots after they win.

Yup. Because we're old (anyone who has Hud as his avatar, aint no kid) we remember these things - I remember the things I want to forget and forget the things I want to remember.

But I remember the 2004 Canadian team being "unbeatable" - and for 2 periods, they were. Boy did that hurt.

I used to be this way...

I used to care about My golf score to...

Now I just take it as it comes... enjoy watching hockey and playing golf more...

I still suck at golf... and Team Canada is rarely a complete let down...

Hey, they made a movie about My uncle... I never met or heard about Jimmy Hoffa...

My uncle gave Me a really nice pair of slightly used men's oxfords in July of 1975...

Strange...

I worry about Caufield doing something special to redeem himself.

You’re taking his NCAA numbers with a grain of salt? What LOL. Could Knight have been better this tournament? Sure. That being said he’s still had a good one. I’d be willing to bet my house Knight will be better than Levi.
If you are talking about Knight.being better than Levi in todays game... you better start packing.

Re : "Hoffa"

Seriously?

Decades ago, I was watching the World Juniors when I invited my (ex) Father-In-Law to join me. He declined, saying it was too hard on his heart. I laughed.

Years later, it's too hard on my heart - I am happy to watch the replay on TSN IF we win.

Years later, I feel the same way.

Note the :sarcasm:

Jimmy Hoffa's disappearance has been a dark running joke with My circle of friends since High School...

For example...someone mentioned Chipolte restaurants last night and a bunch of guys chirped all sorts of derogatory stuff... one of them could have said "I ordered a Burrito & I found Jimmy Hoffa's ring"...

I would have gotten it...

This Canada Team is a well oiled machine. No weaknesses from top to bottom, and Levi has proven is up to the challenge.

Can you imagine this team with a healthy Dach and Lafrenière ?

Why ? Dach was their captain before being injured, and Lafrenière showed last year what kind of leader he is.

Because hockey isn't played on paper.

Maybe the team defers too much to Dach, the guy with NHL playoff experience. Or maybe Lafreniere tries to do too much on his own.

I don't know, but I don't assume.

This team as it is currently constructed is doing a tremendous job. That much I am sure of. Hopefully they can close it out.
