He was on the bench. Drysdale got himself caught on the ice until he was so gases he just stopped skating. He was so bad in that game.
Yep, why was he out there though? Couldn't have been what Byram did? Of course not.

Byram was so lost it’s almost like he wasn’t even on the ice for that first goal

Yes, that's why I clearly stated the second goal where he was trying to get in between them titties for whatever reason (as an American fan, I'm very glad he decided to do so). The problem with the first one, as noted by many in here, the analysts, etc. is that the forward(s) failed to get the puck deep multiple times which prevented Drysdale and at least one other forward from getting off the ice because they're on the far side of the ice. Thus, they're gassed, and becomes statues which usually leads to a high scoring opportunity(ies), goal or penalty against. This is common hockey knowledge boys. Do you guys really not get this concept?

Guess you can say that for all of team Canada. Probably most of the American squad too.
Nah, I just don't see Cozens game translating very well to the NHL. He will be one of those very good junior players who isn't anything special in the NHL.

My opinion on him isn't based strictly on this game, I've been saying this for a while now.

He didn't make an impact all tournament offensively, and that's not what he was asked to do (outside of being added to the 2nd PP later on in the tourney). You can watch any defenseman who plays 25+ a night and note a couple of times that they got beat wide, gave it away in their own zone, etc. He didn't get himself stuck on the ice, the forward(s) failed to get the puck deep and he was playing on the far side, hence why Byram was able to get off the ice. He can't possibly bail in that scenario just to get off the ice. If you watch ANY player who has been on the ice defending for 90 seconds + of course they're going to be a statue lol. You're really not pointing out anything other than known facts in hockey, thus, you're salty, I get it and just leave it at that..
I’m a USA fan. I’m happy. Drysdale was just a shell of himself tonight. Canada played a very easy schedule and once they went against a team with real pushback, Drysdale, Cozens, Peltier, McMicheal and Krebs fell apart.

Drysdale didn’t handle the forecheck well all night. He didn’t deal with outside speed. He didn’t make contributions elsewhere. He just stunk per how he’d played the rest of the tournament. He very much deserved his minus 2.

cozens was completely AWOL. Totally ineffective. USA isn’t the Swiss. Krebs was trying all kinds of fancy passes to no one and McMichael. Woof. Dude. You never pass and your shots were like dump-ins. #12s biggest contribution was taking a penalty. He didn’t do anything of consequence otherwise.

Canada probably wins that game 7 out of 10 but tonight, too many of their good players, Drysdale definitely included, were just bad.

Yes, you are correct, Drysdale not at fault, he is hockey’s only perfect player.

Only Canadian with jump seemed to be Mercer.... everyone else kind of just seemed slow. Are the Americans that much faster?

During the game, I was thinking about what someone here wrote in the opening minutes about how the Canadians looked so much taller and the Americans almost looked like boys playing against men (or something like that). I imagine that the suggestion was that Americans would have a hard time against the taller, stronger Canadians, but it seems like the Americans' speed was the greater asset. They got to so many pucks and were relentless in using their speed to battle for them and pressure the Canadians, who ended up looking like they were standing around a lot of the time.

I love Zegras. He is so straight forward about his thoughts. That'll get PR'd out of him soon sadly.

So proud of our team.
Amazing feat to beat Canada in any tournament and particularly this year!
Major kudos to all the kid that dealt with quarantine, a weird tournament, and still played their hearts out. In a totally dysfunctional world, all these kids gave us a break from terrible news and a chance to act like clowns over kids playing a game.

I live beating Canada, because you know they beat the best. Great job and thank you to both of these teams.

That is what happens when you go through tournament and steam roll teams. You need a loss or some obstacles to overcome. Canada came in thinking they had this one in the bag and did not play as a team like the USA did.
