Idk if it’s still there but blows my mind the redwings downfall thread lasted that long

A thread openly trolling red wings fans for months with nothing but toxic discourse in there. Bumped every time they lost

That was bad on the mods, ABSOLUTELY, no way it should have lasted that long, but it was also Wings fans keeping it open. If we just let the trolls have their dumb thread, it would have petered out much quicker. I was in there too way more than I should have, but if we leave that garbage alone, it goes away after about 500 posts.

I generally try to go easy on mods because it truly is an absolutely thankless job, but it does irk me when someone in the global mod position behaves that way.

Agreed. MMC is usually pretty good in my experience, but fandom has to be left aside if you are a mod. There are a few mods that are a rude in how they respond on HF, not MMC, but some that I won't name.

Boston is done for this season and likely the foreseeable future imo. Tampa, Toronto and the panthers are locks, so I think our true competition are the senators and the blue jackets. 2 of us will make it while 1 of us doesn’t. Being up 2 points on both of them is big.

That is what I thought 2 seasons ago, and then they just keep staying in there, though losing H Lindholm will do them no favours.

They had a much better roster 2 seasons ago than now. They are older, lost some good players, and have some pretty bad contracts. They also have 0 prospects to use to get better. They are where we were in 2015.

Yeah we won, but that blown lead shit needs to end today. That’s exactly what the Lalonde era red wings did and it infuriated me. That was pathetic to blow that lead. Oh and the goalies need to actually make stops in these situations. Lyon and talbot have to be better.

I try to manage the fact that we really still have a lot of roster holes, and we had a way better 15-5 run that is better than our team is to me. The problem with an all rookie 2nd pair, is they will both make rookie mistakes and then there is the garbage 3rd pair.

Making fun of water while their entire state has none is a bold strategy.

Even dirty water can put out fires.

Yeah.

But I definitely don’t blame the game on him.

This team seems to have a trend where the boys in front just implode.

That was a thing under LaLonde too. So it’s definitely a player issue that this coaching has to fix along with GMSY making changes.

They can make the playoffs this year but it won’t be pretty when it comes to situations like this.

I think blown leads is something that younger player teams have to deal with, which is why youth led teams struggle for so long. Have to learn to win and keep leads. We also have a Gus, Tank, Holl problem.

Blue Jackets have 12 home games left and 13 road games, one of their home games is the stadium one...BJs are 12 wins over 0.500 at home and 7 loses under 0.500 on the road. Unless they can find a way to win on the road, I don't think they have enough home games left to carry them to the WC spot.

A lot of hockey left to play yet, don't count the Rags out until they are mathematically eliminated, they could pull a Panthers make it on the last day yet. The condensed schedule will start racking up injuries all around the league.

The rags just got pumped for 8 yesterday. They suck. Their team has too much toxic energy around them right now. They are better off making trades and trying to regroup next year.

T-Mc going for the learning moments, even with the vets, if you rely on the same players all the time, what happens if 1 or 2 go down, at least they are getting the raw experience to grow from. When the make the playoffs, T-Mc will have confidence in just about anyone being out the when the game is on the line.

Yep, and they won tonight on the road...lots of hockey to be played, I hope you are right, but I am not counting them out until I see them mathematically eliminated, all they need is for their goalie to start playing his value and they will rack up points, hopefully not enough to catch the wings.

What a fun game to be at. This team just loves to play with our emotions. For all the whiners who always whine about Patrick kane can eat crow. The guy is the most clutch player I have ever seen. Him and 93 were buzzing all game long. Love that they're back together. And also it's worth noting that compher had by far his best game of the season. Won tons of battles, made nice plays and looked really good on that line. Hopefully he keeps it up!

Please no more chiarot out in the dying minutes of a game. All he does is stand in front of our goalie to screen him. Over and over. Play simon and mo for the last 3 min or so. I am glad that the todd father made adjustments to ot deployment tonight. Seider then ed then gustufson then back to seider. And was better at using good forwards for the most part too. Huge huge win. Patrick kane is a gamer and he's teaching our youth so much about winning. Hopefully we tighten up defensively to preserve leads going forward so we can get into these playoffs!

Let’s not forget where we were before the new coach change occurred.

Anything can happen in the NHL.

We’re are not a playoff team until we have an asterisk (or whatever lol) next to our name in the standings.

But they do have a ton of drama. Same with Vancouver.

After calming down, I gotta say that this team looks so so much better than before Lalonde. I thought they deserved the win against Tampa and Minnesota, this one should not have gone to OT either.

They're 8-1-1 in the last 10. If they play at this level a whole season, then these games won't matter too much.

Compher actually looked pretty decent tonight and Debrincat is flying out there. Hopefully we see Cat-Compher-Kane form a really solid 2nd line.

Elmer could've had a couple goals, he really makes this 3rd line work.

Elmer-Copp-Tarasenko should have some potential.

We are getting a little banged up. If Moose is out, Tuesday in Minny will be tough with someone playing C that normally doesn't.

Collecting points is all that matters, but hell, find a way to do it in regulation please.

Thursday and the Stadium Series are going to be even bigger games with that implication. I mean with their injuries and sturggles I dont see them making it. But potentially grabbing four points in those games could go a long way to help.

That's one thing and another thing is missing Andrew Copp, who is probably our best forward with Larkin on holding leads at critical moments.

It's now Lindholm and McAvoy. Kind of same if Red Wings would lose Ed and Seider.
Yep, if Swayman cannot steal them games, they will be "should be" sellers territory within a week....I suspect they won't as most GMs (and fans) hate to toss in the towel if a spot is in plain sight...
