The journey was just too pretty though! It wasn't pretty, both teams seemed gassed from playing the previous day. Finland looked pretty lost in the first period, and seemed well on their way to a decisive loss, but they got their wind back in the 2nd while Canada seemed to lose some of theirs.
Some huge saves by Lankinen and timely goals by "Mörkö" sealed the win. Even so, Canada looked pretty dangerous to the end, but couldn't get past the goalie. Finns were just falling over on the ice at that point.
The entire post was an opinion. However, I'm sure if you looked up scoring and Sv% averages in the KHL, SHL and Liiga you would probably see lower scoring and higher Sv% than in the NHL, AHL and CHL.The latter sounds like opinion, the former something we would want to find a statistic for..
Finland won in 2011 and so did Boston so all in Boston this year too![]()
Yes, tournament first game Finland canada 3-1 and last game 3-1, nothing changed during tournament.Looks like Canada used all its puck luck against the Swiss in the QF to stay in the tournament, thus nothing left for the final
Well done Finland! Beaten Russia, Sweden and beaten Canada twice!
Tell me. How many of this Team Finland will ever play in the NHL?
I'd say probably 5 atleast (Hakanpää, Lankinen, Kakko, Jokiharju, Mikkola)Tell me. How many of this Team Finland will ever play in the NHL?

Barkov, Rantanen, Aho, Laine, Teravainen, Granlund, Heiskanen, Ristolainen, Vatanen, Rask, Rinne, Lindell didn't play for Finland.
Dn't use roster as an excuse.
Who did the States knock off in the quarters and semis at Lake Placid, though? Not teams with the number of NHL goals this year that Sweden and Russia had between them going into this tournament.Canada isn't the Red Army and Finland isn't a bunch of US college kids.
But it's still very impressive.
Joke, but very much expected. Most Valuable Player selected by the media: Mark Stone (CAN)
What a .... . Stone was good but MVP was Kevin Lankinen.
