Indeed, good women, better beer, laid-back hockey-savyy nation... a pity they did'nt make it to the SF this year
Hate I missed Prague last time around when my friends backed out. Should've gone anyway. Later on when we saw it all on TV they said we should've been there! Basicly told them to f**k off...

Canada Cup 1976

Nope that was CC 1981...Canada ( on paper, our best team ever! ) won in 1976

Canada saved their best game for the last. Well deserved win.

Finland has nothing to be ashamed about either. Terrific team, constantly a contender, and an even brighter future ahead.

As my final words for today- Congrats to Russia and Finland for their respective Bronze and Silver medals. Very proud of our team to get it done and win Gold with an inferior lineup than last year's team that destroyed Russia. Hope every Canadian poster out there is having an amazing Victoria Day Long Weekend.

Will listen to Drake's song Back to Back several times now to toast our Back to Back WHC Gold Medals. :handclap:

Yeah it looked like a lot of fun last year. The TSN guys kept saying how much fun they were having in Prague and how much beer everyone drank.

I would support Prague getting to host the WHC as much as possible.

What a boring game and anticlimactic way to end the tournament. Props to Canada for giving the Finns no space to do anything but really both teams looked tame offensively. If one would not know, no way would anyone guess this would be the gold medal game because it absolutely felt like a group stage game. Even the crowd looked tired and who can blame them.

One positive thing is that usually I might get angry at losing in finals but here it was such a forgettable performance and game that I just cant take it too seriously

Lol, behave you now! :sarcasm:

A Leafs fan? You know, I had no preconceptions of any fanbase in the NHL but this year I have really gotten why the Leafs are not that popular a team... It's especially weird considering how nice Canadians usually are - do they put something in the drinking water in Toronto?

I dont know which game you were watching but canada was buzzing this game.

I'm not even mad over this loss. Good game, the better team won. Congrats, Oh Canada!

To add to the dick sucking contest, I have always thought of Canada as the Finland of rest of the world. Both countries are so similar you probably wouldn't even realize you're living in different country aside from the language spoken.

The feeling is mutual. If I ever moved from Canada, it'd be to Finland without any question.

Nah, Mikael Granlund... or Mikko Koskinen

And actually the best player in the last few games was Sebastian Aho.

Mikko Koskinen really surprised and impressed me with his performance during the tournament. I didn't think much of him when he was in the NHL but he looked really good for Finland.

But doesn't this mean we get to keep the underdog? :)

Canada for sure had their legs going and outshout the Finns by a fair margin. But a lot of those shots were from long range or from bad angles. Also to make it worse the Finns had barely any scoring chances to speak of. So essentially it was a game that had very few real grade a scoring chances and to me that for the most part means a boring game but of course I can understand if you see it differently :)

Good and very interesting tournament has gone. Let's say big thanks to every team thas has come to WC to play hockey.

Canada was flat out better this game. Congratulations. The game didn't really feel like a win from the start for me, but I am a bit disappointed that we couldn't even get one goal. I was hoping for Last Minute Laine to show up.
