Canada came back from a deficit and won the second half of the game 2-0. That's the important thing. The Americans were unable to score as they lacked finishers and the Canadian coaching staff knew that. The strategy was to keep them to the outside and not let them break in off the rush and it wouldn't matter how much zone time they had. It seems like the coaching staff is preparing them to beat Finland at their own game. Even the Russians could not beat the Finns with all-out offence, so it's a reasonable strategy. We'll see how good Canada is at being grinders tomorrow. I am betting pretty good.

This.

Awesome reactions from canadians after they won, it shows that it really matters for them to win this and they love it, just like last year.

Congrats Canada! Absolutely deserved win tonight. They outplayed Finland, schooled them in this game, outworked them, but props and kudos to Finland, they played hell of a tournament, and have bright future ahead of them and exciting times.

I love it for Canada, I love your players, I love Canada as a country, your anthem... My 2nd favourite country. I am very happy that I was able to see both Canadian teams that won championships (2015, 2016). Both in Prague, I hope I will be able to see 2017 team too!

Don't forget the World hockey championships this year :handclap:

Thank you my friend for your nice words. My all time favourite player is Jaromir Jagr. So, i love your players as well!

I sing Canadian anthem almost every day.. I like the anthem and it's lyrics are easy. Still hoped Finland win.

Laine is great loser, classy answers on interviews.

Anyone else kinda sensed mcdavid will get a game winning goal today before the game started? Same way crosby didn't score until the game winner in vanc olympics

Congrats to Canada. Can't even be mad. It's almost unfair how much better their team is compared to everyone else in the WHC level. They're unbeatable when they have the motivation to win.

+1 and respect for saying that.

To put what Canada achieved into some perspective, in the knock-out round they shut out the opposition in eight periods out of nine. They pitched a shut-out over the final, most important 90 minutes of the tournament. And, minus the round robin game with Finland and the semi-final, they allowed a total of four goals in eight games.

A great game from Canada, they made Finland look like a terrible hockeyteam at times. Well deserved, but I hope our young guns can step up even more in the future (Barkov, Laine, Puljujärvi, Aho, Teräväinen, Rantanen(who i liked alot!!!)), and maybe knock you out in the elimination games. 2018 Olympics would be the ideal place, if NHL participates that is.

Its time to start summer, happy holidays for you guys and see you in autumn.

Yes.

But don't forget for the near future..Lehtera, Donskoi, Haula..etc...all in all what we need is a better coach than this year...but that seems to be coming

Thank you for your kind words

They should just hold the WHC in Prague every second year. Awesome fans, awesome arena, and beautiful city.

GG canada u played better no way around it, i still think even you would have wanted to see us score on the "pp" aho got diving from, to give you an actual game.

Nah, Mikael Granlund... or Mikko Koskinen

And actually the best player in the last few games was Sebastian Aho.

1) Granlund 2) Koivu 3) Barkov 4) Koskinen 5) Aho

But anyway, the whole team was so ggod during the tournament that it does make no sense to single out or hype much anybody

Indeed, good women, better beer, laid-back hockey-savyy nation... a pity they did'nt make it to the SF this year

Congrats to Canada. Better team won today. Macjesus is something different. He will be best player of the world someday. There is no question.

To add to the dick sucking contest, I have always thought of Canada as the Finland of rest of the world. Both countries are so similar you probably wouldn't even realize you're living in different country aside from the language spoken. So cheers my Canadian buddies. Or am I even your buddy, guy?

Still don't like your attitude towards my favourite NHL team ;)
