The weaker teams are definitely improving and its great to see. Its also wonderful how much better the Swiss are now than before. The more competition the better.

Great to see and thanks for sharing. I did mean more that maybe if finally someone else win gold, outside of the usual suspects, it could have a positive impact on the game as a whole.

It certainly couldn't hurt in Switzerland but I don't think the impact would be all that big. It would probably change the players attitude towards the world championships though. Switzerland has great players for quite a while now but it's the first time they actually all play together. In earlier years they mostly weren't interested...partly also because of questionable coaching. It's still a problem but I guess it was a chain reaction after many agreed to join. Not many good players missing here. On defense it hurts not to have Sbisa and Weber though and I also think they selected the right players instead. I like the forward group but this defense, and Untersander/Diaz in particular, is pretty shaky.

Christian Slater?

I find it uncanny how Switzerland always seem to get rebounds to bounce away from the goal no matter what. I guess when things are going well they're going well.

Sbisa, Weber, Hirschier, Suter. A lot of good players for Switzerland not here.

Weber isn't an upgrade over anyone of their D-men on my opinion. He was a complete offensive and defensive black hole despite playing sheltered minutes for NSH.
