So the big question, will the Swedes sport gold helmets from the start of the game or they politely wait until there is a few minutes left?

Well, well, well let us see ... Sweden come out to play, Sweden come out to playeei, Sweden come out to playieee, Sweden come out to playieeeeee ... like The Warriors-79.

Klirr, klirr ...

And not like stiffed up yellow broiler-chickens with an superior best-of-the-world attitude (as always).

Because many can't dig that attitude.

And Roman Josi will be out there with open arms and a long stick - and watch out he's gonna get ya!

Even if 89% of the Swedes think Sweden's gonna win it easy according to Aftonbladet (Sweden's largest newspaper).

... but then on the other hand; Finland voted on SportMTV.fi on the same question:

"What team do you hold on in the World Championship-Final" like this:

Sweden: ----- 11,83%

Switzerland: ---------------------------- 84,81%

No one: -- 3,81%

So there you go.

And can you dig it, Sweden?

Lets see if the Swiss hockey team is just as based as their Swiss guard ;)

For the grace, for the might of our lord
For the home of the holy
For the faith, for the way of the sword
Gave their lives so boldly
For the grace, for the might of our lord
In the name of his glory
For the faith, for the way of the sword
Come and tell their story again

The story of the 189 brave soldiers in the Swiss guard during the sacking of Rome in 1527.
Since Charles V, ruler of the holy roman empire couldn’t pay his troops they mutinied and forced their commander to lead them towards Rome where plunder was plentiful.
When the invading force entered the vatican pope Clement VII escaped to Castel Sant’Angelo via passetto di Borgo.
The few remaining guardsmen gave their lives on the steps to St. Peters Basilica.

Hold on is epic swenglish.

It will be a good game. We rarely have an easy game against Switzerland if we arent loaded with the entire NHL squad. We have more to lose than they do so i fullt expect a strong start from them. But if we actually come out and dont view ourselves as favorites I think the depth and massive amount of talent will be too much for Switzerland to handle

With Canada finishing 4th, if Sweden win gold here, they will be ranked #1 in the international standings, right?
Nope, since they're counting the discount olympics and it hasn't declined yet since a year hasn't gone by yet, if I understand the formula correct it'll be;

1. Canada: 3990
2. Sweden: 3945
3. Russia: 3930

Should be a relatively comfortable win for Sweden. Maybe Switzerland can keep it close for a while but will collapse eventually. Sweden seems to have a good team chemistry going, hasn't lost a game yet, has way more talent than Switzerland and, independent of this, always dominates Switzerland. I just hope it stays close until the last few minutes so it won't be a wasted evening.

Would be epic to see the Swiss win. Hopefully their success gets more people into hockey, it is too top heavy right now.

Right now? It's better than ever before. Even though Slovakia has slipped, Switzerland, Germany, Latvia, Denmark and Norway have improved alot.

Heck, winning against teams like France isn't a total walk in the park anymore.

I really wish that Swedish fans would stop being so bloody arrogant. Just stop it. Switzerland are a good team, you can't judge their game against Canada by today's blowout which they obviously couldn't care less about.

Salty Canadian. Sweden was the best team in the juniors and Canada knew that so they took acting classes and knew refs would be on their side. Id toss the silver medal in that situation too

You should go watch the game again, Sweden was the dirtiest team of the 2018 World Juniors, for further proof just look at Oskar Steen, his vicious slash against the US's Kailer Yamamoto in the semi final earned him a disciplinary hearing. But he didn't even learn his lesson from that as he went on to take a 10 minute unsportsmanlike misconduct against Canada the very next game in the final.

Swedes were hooking, slashing, interfering and tripping Canadians all game long. That's simply the reality. If you want to do the typical sore loser thing and blame it on some reffing conspiracy lol go right ahead but you're only fooling yourself.

Stay classy.

And I really wish shallow generalizations like these wouldn't be used as general accusations. So a few Swedish fans feel confident this will be a blowout, in a public forum? How unexpected. Most Swedish fans acknowledge the Swiss have a good team. There are game scenarios where the Swiss can win the game (first/ second goal, too many Swedish penalties, etc). But if you wouldn't hold the Swedish team as the favourites beforehand, even as a neutral fan, I don't know what to tell you.

So if a few fans believe it'll be a blowout, being homers from the favourites... you really need thicker skin than that.

If you only would've written "I really wish some Swedish fans would stop being so bloody arrogant." I would've had no problem with your post. And maybe my post is completely redundant, but I just want this game to start already and I just assume that's what you meant.

More people into hockey? That's gonna be difficult in Switzerland. I don't think there are more people into hockey worldwide...except in Canada of course...Switzerland is a very small country but hockey is team sport nr.1 or 2 in pretty much every city/town. Stadiums are mostly pretty full.

Just look at those numbers:

Lol whatever helps you sleep at night. Canada has 3 gold medals in the past 10 tournaments, totally a history of "buying the refs" lmfao. Extraordinary delusion.
