I still remember the 2002 gold medal game where the Russian goalie kicked the net off on purpose during a scramble in front of the net with less than 10 seconds left that should've resulted in a Canada penalty shot.

Now we're even.

Lots of salt from fans of countries who wish their country could overtake Canada in hockey. The camera call might be controversial but based on the rule book it sounds like it may have been the right call actually. The Hayton holding the stick call that actually led to a Russian goal was worse than that. Russias just lucky the WJC isnt considered a major tournament or they wouldnt be allowed to compete anyways.

Had to ruin it with your last sentence.

The tournament without Russia wouldn't be the same, or is it only good for you if Canada wins every year.

Yes I would rather Russia be there as well. But theyre also lucky to be there considering the wide spread cheating and covering up of that cheating theyve done at the international level of sports. I like the best teams to be there but I also like things done fairly

Why do you feel the need to keep perpetuating this lie?

I mean, its directly from the rule book so not sure what youre talking about. When that camera turns if 1 mm of wire goes over the ice it was definitely the right call by the rulebook. Even if it wasnt, that rule is up for interpretation a bit and could've been called correctly. These refs are probably told how to make that call so unless you were sitting in the room when they made the rule book I'm not sure how you can be so sure it was the wrong call

It's already been explained time and time agin in this thread why it's not from the rule book.

The puck clearly touched the camera outside of the ice surface.

Correction:

It is state-sponsored doping not wide spread.

As in Putins government was fully aware and involved in doping Russian athletes in order to cheat and win.

The equivalent would be Trudeaus government using the RCMP or CSIS to organise and run a high tech doping scheme.

I seem to recall a 6 on 3 from the WJC within the last few years. It just looked like mayhem. Since Russia already had the goalie pulled for 6 on 4, I imagine that he would have stayed out. It would have been something to see.

how could it not ?
if it happened at a previous WJC I must have missed it but there probably are clips of it somewhere on the internet.

and my search begins.

Yep, another deep thinking man appears.
Ref fedup, even as a Canadian I'm capable of telling the truth. Sad how intengenaly biased some can be. Hardly a sign of intelligence.
I just checked to confirm my suspicions, and "intengenaly" isn't a word.

It's bloody salty in here.

The one thing that makes me laugh about the people moaning about Russia not getting ANOTHER Canadian sent off, is the "fact" that if they did, they would have scored and we're thereby robbed.

Pffft.

Russia's PP was an absolute joke and the way people are outraged about them not getting yet ANOTHER Canadian sent off thereby somehow ensuring a goal is a joke.

Salty.... Salty.

Good, Canada. Gold. :)

Its been explained by posters that think they have a handle on the rules because they read the rule 30 secondsbefore they hit post. Reading on reddit, apparently the camera is attached directly to the glass and they consider it part of the glass. The refs know this and made the right call because of that.

AND this picture shows the camera hanging over the ice so your "explanation" is bull shit because the camera hangs over the ice

According to Liiga head of refereeing Jyri Rönn, in IIHF tournaments there won't be a delay of game penalty if the puck hits a camera or a microphone attached to the rink structures.

– Tuo on IIHF:n sääntö turnauksissa. Liiga-otteluissa ei ole tuollaisia rakenteita, Rönn sanoo.

Also said that it doesn't matter if the structure is inside or outside the airspace of the rink. This rule doesn't exist in Finland because we don't have such structures in place at Liiga rinks.

Preach...

Here's a way to avoid losing a final.....

Play the game?

The whinging, moaning and whining about not getting help from the zebras is embarrassing.

If you have to blame a camera not sending another player off the ice while you're already playing 6v4?

You've got problems. Tell your story walking.

I'm sure you have never complained about a call that didn't go your teams way.

Of course I have. But if my club plays garbage and blows a lead... then whines about a debatable penalty that "cost us the game," assuming... and this is the biggest part.... assuming if we got the call we would have scored?

No. I would say we sh*t the bed. I'm a Leafs fan. I know that all too well.
