It has for those boys. For most of them this was the last time they can win something big together. It's the end of their junior career. They will party hard and then get back to work.

It is a huge thing for these boys. Families, all the support from all the Canadians.. it doesn't get better than seeing the whole country being pumped and happy for you.

Unless we lose, then it's weeks of whining and finger pointing.

Except when Canada wins it usually comes with a disproportionate amount of people claiming the refs helped us or some other BS excuse, happens all the time when we win. Pay attention and you’ll notice. Go look at the YouTube highlights, already tons of comments saying it’s illegitimate.

I suppose that comes with the territory of being consistently the best.

Everyone wants the throne.

C'mon, I'm Canadian, it was a blown call.

Referees have a difficult job, too many players on all teams faking, diving etc, but that call was a royal f""up.
Absolutely.
I’m also Canadian, and I’ll 100% take that call and not apologize, but it was the wrong call. Refs got stuff wrong on both sides, as they do all tournament and in the nhl, but this was a bad call no doubt.
Refs make mistakes.

It's the unfortunate realism for these Canadian kids. They are heros and win or they are the group that let down the whole country. Shame.

Hero or zero.

The pressure they are under is insane.

Thankfully they’ll come back from Europe as the conquering hero against our biggest rival.

They rose to the occasion and didn’t quit, when it was 3-1 I could already feel the anger building. Really proud of this group and what they overcame to win Gold.

The cited rule people are posting does NOT apply. The camera is, in no way, shape, or form, a structural object situated above the ice surface. This should not be difficult to understand.

Except it does qualify. Citing the replay doesn't matter because the refs can't use it. They had to go by what they saw live.

Yeah the pressure is massive and sometimes even those guys can't handle it. It is easier when you are further from home.

I'm Canadiam BTW.

The Canadian played great for sure but the Russians had a 50% change of tying if the refs were not total frauds.

Hence the blown call.

Mind you, it was initially called a penalty. So it wasn't like they didn't notice the camera was out of play.

One of the most amazing victories I've seen. A spirited comeback and a collapse of reason by Russia.

So much fun to watch.

And Bryam and bernard-docker were great.

It was a team effort. Sure, that sounds cliche, but look at what Hayton did. Dudas, Addison also stood out. Lafreniere was always a threat. Cozens played a good game. Foudy, Hofen. This team had better balance than last year's edition, but I also have to admit that USA and Finland were on a down year compared to what we have recently seen from them. That's the way it works.
