Holy ****balls, Canadian fans are salty even in victory.

Just shut up and enjoy the victory, like everybody else would in your situation.
Holy balls some fans of other countries are always salty in defeat and especially against Canada, can't you take a loss with honour? just shut up and take a loss like a man.

see how i did that?

What are you talking about?

Literally the only thing that ever happened was the instance where the U18 team had to be restocked because some of the players tested for meldonium.

But meldonium is not performance enhancing and was not on the list of banned substances for many years, until it was suddenly added - without much warning or understanding of how long it takes the stuff to leave the bloodstream.

It was literally the only thing that happened to the Russian hockey system and it's in no way tantamount to cheating.

In addition, the KHL is undoubtedly cleaner than the NHL.

The IIHF directly conducts regular anti-doping testing in the KHL. Meanwhile, drug testing in the NHL is virtually non-existent.

Except when Canada wins it usually comes with a disproportionate amount of people claiming the refs helped us or some other BS excuse, happens all the time when we win. Pay attention and you’ll notice. Go look at the YouTube highlights, already tons of comments saying it’s illegitimate.

I suppose that comes with the territory of being consistently the best.

You expect civility and intelligence in YouTube comments?

This always happens whenever anyone wins.

Everyone who is collegial, civil and congratulatory leaves the thread and then a bunch of people with grudges show up and bang away long after the game is over.

Then some idiot says something stupid and then someone else says “wow, your entire country is like that” and then someone else points out something stupid that someone else said.

The adolescence from some is just breathtaking.

Everybody talks crap. However, why does your side always bring up unrelated issues as a means to demean?
Yea ok, I get it, we're the evil empire, the political bad guys, the roided up cheats, etc. etc. This is what I mean by 'salty'.

Win with class, keep the discussion to the WJC.

LOL, are you joking?

I’ve learned more about the Winter War than I ever thought I would know because of international hockey tournaments.

Or World War II.

Or the Finnish War.

Unrelated issues always come up when you get a bunch of Europeans together.

Basically you have posters who already dislike (enter nation here) and then come to these threads, ignoring every respectful and collegial post they see in order to zero in on the handful of assholes and then paint the entire nation with that brush because it’s satisfying and it re-affirms the existing stereotypes that they hold so dear.

And it’s juvenile.

Absolutely. It's pretty dumb to whine that a team that's consistently a contender or favorite needs help. Even today, it was back and forth but Canada came through. Let the whiners whine, tells more about them

Really, really great hockey game, from start to finish. Russia was so fast and dynamic, I thought they’d beat Canada. Both goalies made a bunch of amazing saves.

Usual IIHF issues of reffing, for sure a big missed call at the end, I would be very sour if I was a Russian or Russian fan. It’s a part of the game unfortunately, and it does go both ways, Canada had some tough calls too. Would have been better if that over the glass was called.

We can all bitch and moan at each other, but the whole point of the tournament is to let these young guys showcase their talent and they did and it was a great tourney. The outcome truly shouldn’t matter to anyone not on the team, we didn’t do anything, just got to enjoy some exciting hockey.

Cheers to the Russians for a great tourney.

The nhl is a private league. They get to set whatever rules they like because they are not Wada signatories.

And if the KHL is sooooooo clean, who do you supposed does the testing? The non compliant Rusada?

The IIHF doesn't test anyone. Accredited labs do.

Through either malice, ignorance or design rusada isnt accredited.

Ignoring for a moment the camera, if we assume that it does get called, if Canada goes down two men, would Russia still have pulled the goalie to play 6 on three?

Has anyone ever seen a 6 on three powerplay? That would have to be a pretty mighty triangle.

I don't know if this has been posted...

This rule doesn't apply because the camera was mounted to the backside of the glass and not situated above the ice surface. It was out of play. Now if it was a sky-cam above the ice, yes the rule would apply. But that's not the situation here.
