Thank you... I totally agree that the Russian goalie was not at his best for those few moments. I even suggested pulling him as he seemed overwhelmed. I do feel he was at fault on the Thomas goal as well.. 2 steps and he couldve got to the puck first.. he was DEEP in his net when Thomas dangled him.

Having said that... his dive didn't cause a powerplay for his country. Just made him look silly.lol

Why are people freaking out about Miftakhov? A teammate fell on him and he lost his mask. It happens.

For all the talk about diving, there was actually very little of it in this game. Some guys were just - as hard as it may be for some to believe - falling occasionally because that happens in hockey, which is a physical game.

I was just pointing out that that didn't draw a penalty and was a non factor in the outcome of the game.

How embarrassingly biased do you have to be to not see that this is an embellishment? The Russian shoved him where the black line is, i.e in the chest. Ty Dellandrea proceeds to throw his head back and touch his face. A complete embarrassment of an hockey player.

How come you didn’t post the video of the Russian goalie crying on the ice and then suddenly getting up after realizing it was his teammate that knocked him down?

Or are we just posting Canadian dives tonight?

Absolutely abysmal reffing, Canada did not deserve this win whatsoever. What a joke

The f*** you talking about, Russia was up 3-1 and got on the board because of a PP from a phantom call.

They were on the PP down a goal when the no-call happened on the delay of game... where the f*** in this story does Canada climbing back to tie the game and then take the lead after getting phantom calls makes you think they didn't earn or deserve the win.

They were still on the PP even after the non-call, they f***ed that up themselves.

IIHF has some 'xplaining to do. That non call on what should've been a delay of game at a critical time affected what should've been a great game. The bad call on Hayton earlier can be explained away by something being missed, but to not have proper ground rules followed is ridiculous.

Not going to get on the RUS kids too much for the stick infraction(s)at the end, but they were unfortunate, and unnecessary. Pressure (and frustration), causes strange actions.

So when it’s a bad call against canada it’s okay, but when it’s against Russia the IIHF needs to get involved lol

This thread is hilarious, keep em coming.

Don't thank me. The point remains the only bad embellishment was Miftakhov and no embellishment generated a call that want warranted (including the Smith penalty).

And it was more than a few moments. He did it on two separate occasions and it went on for several seconds each time. Insanity.

They lost the game. They blew a 2 goal lead and cracked.

It's over and done with.

Like some other people are saying, the Russians were flopping all over the place trying to embellish stuff as well. You try whatever you can to win and Canada won today. Great game nonetheless.
It's the usual sour grapes, nothing more, even the ones doing it know it.

that is just what they do and will always do and they can't help themselves, it's immaturity.

Not trying to be a jerk, but you mean this year. They've been caught cheating before.

What are you talking about?

Literally the only thing that ever happened was the instance where the U18 team had to be restocked because some of the players tested for meldonium.

But meldonium is not performance enhancing and was not on the list of banned substances for many years, until it was suddenly added - without much warning or understanding of how long it takes the stuff to leave the bloodstream.

It was literally the only thing that happened to the Russian hockey system and it's in no way tantamount to cheating.

Holy shitballs, Canadian fans are salty even in victory.

Just shut up and enjoy the victory, like everybody else would in your situation.
