This year no doubt we had the best team but if Russia starts Sorokin instead of Shestyorkin maybe tonight is a different outcome.

Both team gave us a great hockey game, Russia impress me a lot they never quit and almost came all the way back and let's not forget they had a tougher road to the final they beat the US and Sweden and gave Canada everything they could handle.

Thank You and good night see you next year. :yo:

What a game, what a team. Can you imagine if this team had the services of sam bennett, nate mackinnon, jonathan drouin, aaron ekblad, and bo horvat??!?!?!? Good night jim kyte.

This makes no sense. Shestyorkin wasn't the one that gave up two softies. He gave up a bang bang goal on NHL shot that an NHL goalie would have trouble with and then gave up a tap in. Meanwhile goal #3 was stoppable and #4 and #5 were bad. I feel like Shestyorkin was getting **** on by Ferraro for some reason even before the game and Sorokin got way too much credit for Russia getting it together, I guarantee he gives up at least one and likely both of the goals that Shestyorkin gave up. It wasn't Shetyorkin's fault that Russia decided to **** their pants in the first two minutes. He did absolutely nothing wrong.

Now we are U18,U20, WC, Olympic mens and womens champions. I guess a WHC this spring would complete it.

Candaian hockey players just don't know how to play on big ice.

Bring the winning OL team, the European league players would still whoop them.

I love how the Russians were very good at slowing the play down once they got the zone

It was a great contrast with Canada's "go go go" style

Epic game, I would have liked to see it go to OT honestly: the intensity would have been off the charts

After winning the WJC 2005 I believe Canada was the defending champions in everything hockey related, except the under-18 (but they won the most recent Ivan Hlinka tournament).

What a feeling. This tournament means so much across the country, it's unreal. Proud of the boys, what a team, what a game. Russians are amazing, one of the great rivalries in World sport, justified again with one of the greatest finals ever.

Days like this you just take a step back and take it all in, unbelievable game.

Now let's win the Worlds in May!

Olympics
World Juniors
Remaining: World Championships!

To complete the trifecta!!! :)

Barbashev was a freaking beast tonight, god, I still don't know how the Blues landed him in the 2nd round! What luck for the Blues!

That Fabbri kid isn't too shabby either!

dude, 2002 in SLC and 2014 in Sochi was played on big ice.

the, 1994, 1997, 2003, 2004 and 2007 WHC were played on big ice and I love how we beat Sweden 6-0 in 94 in the semi's, beat them again in 1997 in the final, then again in 2003 and 2004.

SO MANY HATERS!! Hahaha, so awesome to see Canada win gold in a bar packed with good Canadian fans, as they all were, coast to coast! :handclap:

I would have thought you guys liked Canadians more - you're on a hockey forum and we gave you hockey
