They could've had Sherbak. Happy with the result but that's a major omission. Sherbak is the kind of guy who could've tied it up.

Bragin is a coach who gets results (three straight WJC finals for him), his selections are generally faultless. This Russia team was completley written off before the tournament started by the general hfboards population (Majority did not have Russia grabbing a medal).

Sherbak had some poor performances for the National Team when Bragin was watching him and his refusal to report for a camp in Moscow was enough not to select him. May have seen him as a little too arrogant for the team he is trying to build. Plus he generally has different lines playing different systems. For the role Sherbak would have had on the team there was probably 10 players competing for 6 spots.

I will say this about Ritchie...once they found the right line and the right role for him, he was miles better. He does not belong anywhere near elite scoring centermen in the future.

Everyone made a big deal about Petan but i knew he wouldn't do anything this game. Skilled player but he was awful as the going got tough.

I crapped all over Gauthier all tournament but as the game got tight and we needed to rely on him he delivered.

Theodore was awesome can't wait for him to make the Ducks.

Well Bowey helped other teams score goals and Heatherington was pretty bad with the puck. Defense managed to hold out though. Nurse, Theodore and Morrissey deserve all the praise they get.
