So..so fast.

I think he caught up with Crosby as well earlier in the game when he almost had a break away.

Actually, all the three you have name could have helped the team. It's what the lineup lacked. They needed size and speed. Tenacity and those two are more than enough for that. Lidstrom would have calmed that defense even though I thought Kronwall wasnt too bad.

Kronwall was on the ice for the first two Canadian goals. Makes him minus-2.

I saw him head-hunting in the Finn game. He didn't have the nads to try that against Canada.

Congrats to Canada! You did what you were supposed to do, but I was disappointed the way your players acted after the final bell. The players celebration was so lame! It looked like they just won a beer-league championship. It was the friggen olympic gold. If it means so little to them, then dont win it. This Canada domination is bad for hockey.

As disappointed you were satchmo, I can guarantee the negative feedback would have been deafening had the Canadian lads celebrated more vociferously.

Ahh ok. I thought I saw a picture of St Louis on Smith's shoulders at the ceremonies but maybe that was the opening? Or maybe Im just dreaming

Got to look at the pic a little closer. Canada was good, but not good enough to be awarded to gold at the opening ceremonies. ;)

On a side note, I actually liked the way our boys celebrated their win. Sort of a "Yeah, we won, you really surprised?" attittude they gave.

Too bad they weren't like this again, this was also a regulation victory by 3 goals:

Today, the Canadian team came off extremely classy, but c'mon, they looked spoiled like "oh good, we won, like we expected too" Imagine this was how the Stanley Cup was awarded. The celebration was treated like the win of a 1st round playoff series.

Well that was after a 50 year drought, it was only second time for NHLers at the Olympics and this was only four years after Nagano debacle.

Oh and in front of a boisterous Canadian crowd too, so I suspect that something to do with it as well...

No Lidstrom
No Forsberg
No Sundin
No Naslund
No Zetterberg
No Sedin
No Backstrom

No chance

Every team in this tournament have injuries and retired players : for Canada : Stamkos and Tavares

Finland : Both Koivu, Barkov, Filpulla

USA centerline was far away of Modano, JR, Weight in '90

Same thing for Russia with D-man, when A.Markov is your #1 D-man you have a problem at this hockey level.

Neither of those players play Center. If the Swedish Coach was hesitant to use OEL, Hedman and Lindholm wouldn't have sniffed the ice either.

Maybe the coaching/management was a part of the problem for the Swedes, Oduya was not very good in is zone, a guy like Hedman or Lindholm can play with the best. Lindholm is a key player for the Ducks, one of the best plus/minus ratio in the league.

This years Hedman is playing the best hockey of his young career.
