Congrats to Canada! You did what you were supposed to do, but I was disappointed the way your players acted after the final bell. The players celebration was so lame! It looked like they just won a beer-league championship. It was the friggen olympic gold. If it means so little to them, then dont win it. This Canada domination is bad for hockey.

Unfortunately the knowledge they were going to win was pretty obvious after Kunitz let go his laser. This tempered their celebration, and pretty much the celebrations across the country. It's not like winning in overtime when the outcome is still in doubt...

We could have won 2 medals in men's hockey if they let us dress 2 teams this year..... So much depth it hurts

Don't be modest, you could win 16 if you dressed 12 teams.

The head of your population would inflate until explosion.

Best team game I have seen in years. Price did his job. But in fairness I think an AHL goalie could have won gold with that D in front of them.

I love that the two leaders give each other this look like "lets get this done" anf Benn is smart enough to walk by and let them have their "Rocky" moment. Duchene on the other hand like a big nerd gets in there and smacks Sid an says something cheesy likely. Toews and Crosby both look annoyed by Duchene's involvement in that moment

From Luongo's twitter - this is the cutest thing I've ever seen in my life:

And for all the hand-wringing about Luongo vs. Price, you gotta admit, Roberto has been an absolute beast in the teamwork department. Hell he even tweeted #ThePriceIsRight before the Can-USA game and "JESUS PRICE!!!!" afterwards!

I love luongo. He's such a good sport about everything that goes on. Seems like a very down to earth guy.

Agreed. Was good to see all the players support each other and buy into what the coaches were asking.

Maybe this is a cultural thing, but in Canada we're taught to keep our celebrations short and sweet, especially while the other team is still on the ice. Being a good winner is just as important as not being a sore loser.
Too bad they weren't like this again, this was also a regulation victory by 3 goals:

Today, the Canadian team came off extremely classy, but c'mon, they looked spoiled like "oh good, we won, like we expected too" Imagine this was how the Stanley Cup was awarded. The celebration was treated like the win of a 1st round playoff series.

Twice you blamed Berglund for the Kunitz goal but it was Daniel Sedin who coughed up the puck and than didn't hustle to recover it or play defense. Berglund may not have even been on the ice.

Yup that was Danny's cough up.

Really? If anything the last 5 years of the WJC have proved that Sweden, USA, Russia and Finland will be closer to Canada than ever in the future.
Outside of the USA, no one seems to be making any significant strides toward challenging Canada for Gold (especially not Russia). If the NHL allows it's players to compete in 2018, the team will still have Crosby, Stamkos, Tavares, Duchene, Benn, Doughty, Pietrangelo, Subban and Price all in their prime, with future superstars like McDavid, MackInnon, Hall, and Seguin all added to the mix.

Good luck.

3 GA in 6 games says it all. Dominating defensive performance. Some lucky bounces were mixed in there but the lack of clutch scoring didn't hurt them in the end. Need to have 1 or 2 snipers in there next time.

Where did I give you the assumption Latvia would win goal?! I was talking about one game. That changes the standings/matchups and Canada doesn't go undefeated in the tournament. They may very well have won gold regardless.

You predicted they'd win the game after they'd tied the score. I merely took your fantasy and extended it to your logical conclusion.

Kind of off topic but after watching the medal presentations after the game, I just noticed how most Swedes have great hair and how bald Getzlaf is
